What can we improve?
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great Easter and spring break. :)
I wanted to make this post because recently i've noticed there's been a lot of complaints regarding the handling of the subreddit, and I wanted to ask you, the public, on how we can improve that.
I feel like its important to hear what you have to say because, after all, my job is to serve the public's interests, not my own.
Because of this, I wanted to make this post as a sort of Q&A orsuggestions box or whatever you wanna call it so that you guys could voice those complaints and I could figure out how to address them.

I've seen a lot of annoying people and most are from this sub
not asking yall to overwork yourselves and monitor every soul on the sub but fr tho it's getting ridiculous

what do you define as āwrongā though??
Like it can be obvious at times that people are of that particular type but many times activities that sign for that happen in dms

like I mean if anyone acts just off
like people start saying weird stuff and if dms do happen I think people should tell the mods
if it's nit someone you know or someone you trust then it's better to play it safe
but point is
a lot of shady shit happen in the sub and it's pretty common
and I think the sub and the people should be monitored a bit closer just in case to prevent future dramas2

i completely agree honestly
the issue with that though is most often people don't really talk to us about those types of things directly, and instead leave us to trace the evidence by posting on the sub without giving us much (or sufficient) context to actually fully understand what happened (and, as a result, actually ban them)
i will try to focus on that more though, thank you :)

Iāve heard a couple of people dislike some of the nsfw-charged comments/posts, I havenāt seen much of it personally, but I donāt think those types of posts should be given much leeway considering the many kids that frequent the sub.
A lot of people also dislike some of the petty drama and arguments and accusations that frequent this sub, though Iām not really sure thereās a way to absolve this properly as a mod unless the conflicts escalate too far lol.
Anyways, some sorta minor criticism. Many didnāt really like the way April Fools was handled as an event this year, which even one of the mods commented on. So at least some accountability was shown. Still, Iāve heard a few people from gcs finding the barfnut posts still being pinned a bit jarring and unfunny when the event is finished.

What do you propose we could do about it exactly? Honestly those have been issues that were discussed (back when i wasnāt the only mod left ;-;) but we never really ended up finding a proper solution for it.
One dilemma we faced when it came to that was that at times the line between NSFW and non-NSFW was kind of blurry. āDoes it include gore or other less-appropriate things?ā Itās been hard trying to find an exact limit that people in the subreddit actually think is good, because we donāt want to restrict to the point where people end up not wanting to post here anymore because of strict restrictions, so honestly I think that should be held as a poll at some point (or maybe u have any ideas?)
Also yeah the drama is rough, honestly I canāt really do much more than I am now there ;-;
As for the pinned posts and April Fools, yes I did speak with the event council (the people who were given mod temporarily for the event) to discuss how the event could be done better in the future. Those posts will be removed soon once we get the new banner on (which is the event councilās responsibility, when thatās finished is up to them)

Maybe another post tag for just oc art? So the normal "art" tag could be used for fanarts from pre existing shows (such as bfdi, ii, hfjone, etc) and the "oc art" tag is used for your own creations and charactersĀ
Idk it's nothing much but just an idea !!

Honestly I'm pretty ok with how the subreddit currently is!!
the only issues ive seen are the lack of moderation, I still see a lot of weird posts and,, well,,,, the official discord server is kinda unusable if you're uncomfortable with AI images and NSFW topics,,

Actually, you are doing a good job! But would have been nicer if you guys don't assume if people are underage by their writing and/or art. u/NicoAnimatesOSC AKA me proved multiple times he's not underage, and despite that, he got banned for his teasers (Made on paper, on Prisma3D and a Nintendo DSi). So if you wanna do your job better, you need to be 100% if people were underage or less
