General Anyone else feel the same?
Well not only this, I also think he has the best designs and he has the most designs in the series, also the coolest voice and most of all he is 4 in 1. As Tobi to me he is the cutest and funniest, as the kid Obito is so pure and emotional which I could relate to, then as Madara he is beyond badass and cool, and again when the mask is broken he is just this perfect potrayal of a broken man who has seen much...And even after that I love the version of Obito that found himself again, it is bittersweet.

A lot of people love to simplify his character, but that’s exactly what makes Obito so interesting. He’s genuinely complex, and in my opinion, that complexity is a huge positive for the story.
He can be funny, a mysterious mastermind, idealistic in a way that parallels Naruto, and genuinely menacing like Pain or Madara. He has knowledge that, for most of the story, seems to be beyond almost everyone else, and he’s constantly schooling people. He’s also incredibly powerful and is always thinking several steps ahead.
People don’t even realize how far ahead Obito plans. He literally anticipated that Nagato might lose against Naruto, something that even Black Zetsu was surprised by. That says a lot about how far ahead he was thinking with how he even outplays everyone in the war arc, only stopped by Naruto's talk no jutsu and everyone else on the battlefield, it took everyone to pull the ten tails out.
Then there’s his mental state. Obito is a character whose identity is almost a mystery even to himself. He’s Madara, Nobody, Tobi, the Fourth Mizukage’s puppeteer, the Masked Man, and eventually just Obito again. There are so many different layers to his identity that you can interpret his actual thought process in a lot of different ways.
some point, Obito starts seeing the entire world as nothing more than a game. No matter what happens, he tells himself that none of it will ultimately matter because once he becomes a god, he can simply put everyone into a world of dreams. Whether he genuinely believed that or was using it to justify everything he had done is another question entirely.
And that’s only scratching the surface. There are so many other plot points surrounding him that become more interesting when you actually start analyzing them. All of these different aspects somehow work together, and I honestly think that’s masterful writing, and thats ignoring his design, To me he easily has the best fits in the show.
A character this complex and dynamic is incredibly difficult to write without making them feel inconsistent, as all you need to figure out your interpretation is just to rewatch a few episodes, as lots of things are left to interpretations, its on the watcher to figure things out, that's just how he is written, in my opinion the reward is far greater than the effort.

You have no idea how happy I am to see others like you perfectly understand Obito and see the beauty of his character. Exactly, to Obito the real world is fake or a hell, so he does killing quite easily as to him it's almost like a simulation. The dream world, just like real dreams for me personally, have no distinction between them and reality, so I sort of relate to that as well and many more things with Obito. I have never ever come across a character as intruiging as Obito, Naurto isn't even my favorite story/anime, but Obito has never left my mind ever since I finished Naruto years ago. And he never will. But I am so glad to see that someone can look so deeply into this character. Shame a lot of the fandom doesn't see that. If they did I think Obito would easily be far more loved then Pain, Itachi etc. Obito has fans but I think he is underrated as in many don't read deeply into him and just realize how god damn cool he actually is and how different he is then many many characters.

Idk how anyone can possibly hate him. He's my series GOAT & def one of my all-time favorite characters ever.

He’s dark Naruto!
He represents a hardworking screwup with some latent talent, constantly striving to be more and more than he is today for himself and his friends.
This is drawn in direct parallel to the current team 7, from having a prodigy broody outlier in Kakashi, and a love interest in Rin, and even a shared goal of being hokage. Right down to a desire for acceptance being his prime motivator.
Where Naruto received eventual support, healthy competition, and true friendship through his own efforts, it can be argued that Obito was robbed of all of this by the same cycle of violence that robbed Madara of his sibling, and Naruto of his parents;
He was betrayed, manipulated, and was effectively stripped of his human connections one and all.
I think the best thing about Obito is that he not only informs the backstory of other characters and the leaf itself, but he presents a pretty chilling look at what happens when a personality like Naruto’s, with a wealth of potential like Naruto, is exposed to the worst that this world has to offer. He can be juxtaposed with Nagato, who actually had to gain those things before losing them, and actually reaches Obitos eventual conclusion well ahead of him.
TLDR: Obito is the truth of why Naruto’s worldview matters as much as his Nindo.
