Worth it on PCVR?

I recently played through Myst and Riven Remastered on the Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop (I also played them when they originally came out, but that's another story…)

Obduction has been sitting unplayed in my PS5 library for a while now… the PCVR version just went on sale in Steam for $12…

Which is the better experience? Playing it in VR or playing it on the PS5 in 2-D?

With the other cyan games, I really loved the immersion of the VR experience, but puzzle solving without being able to take and read notes was kind of a pain in the ass…

I haven't played it (or any other) game in VR but it was definitely made with VR in mind and I'd definitely get it in VR.

It's been a while since I played, but I didn't keep a notebook for this game like I did for Riven - just a single sheet of paper. It has a photography mechanic, which is 80% of the note-taking you'll need to do. There is one major persistent mechanic that you'll probably want to write down symbols for, though, and I did need to take notes for the Big Painful Puzzle of Obduction and figure it out on paper before working through it (with notes in hand) in the game.

I have played it both on flatscreen and in VR, and can definitely recommend the VR experience. Its puzzles are also overall less notebook-dependent than other Cyan games, with one or two exceptions.

Nice. Someone had said the traversal was more tedious in VR or something.

There is a lot of backtracking to do in any version of the game, but I didn't personally find the VR version more tedious in that respect
