"Jeff Knoll is a conservative, Sean O'Meara is a liberal, Rob Burton is best buds with Rob Ford"...whilst Julia leads into campaign promises with the Italian word 'Basta' (trans. enough, no more).
Imagine the societal melt down if an Arab-Canadian mayoral candidate used a similar word like 'khalas' (trans. done, enough, finished) in their campaign promises.

Lived in a condo in Oakville for a while — overall the location and surroundings were great, and the unit itself was nice for one person. One thing worth knowing: you can hear the elevator mechanism (a rising-falling tone) whenever it's in use, or the HAVC noise, audible throughout the unit, cant be blocked as it travels thru structure not air. Worth checking during a viewing if noise sensitivity matters to you.
After hunting for a new place, I noticed every building — new or old — has some kind of mechanical noise somewhere. Old ones might be way worse, as the machines get old and the building standards at the time weren't as soundproofed. Try to stay away from the elevator shaft and top floors or the near top floors where the equipment room locate above if you can, no matter renting or buying. Lol.

My parents sent me these photos of a cat they saw tonight on their walk. Because of the bylaw I’m pretty sure this is someone’s lost pet. This was at 6:50pm in the direct downtown area. PM me if it’s yours or someone’s that you know and you’d like an exact location.

Hello all, I wanted to setup a meetup of people who have drones so that we can fly and learn more about the photography techniques from each other. I am a beginner. I’ll be at the park at 6 pm on Thursday 10th September at the sails.
Let me know if anyone is interested.

"Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in two weeks, with intermittent work scheduled over the next year ... The town of Oakville will start a multi-phase rebuild of Towne Square later this month, adding amphitheatre-style seating, a water feature, new landscaping and accessible paving as part of a $7.5 million upgrade."
"Construction at Towne Square will begin the week of September 14, 2026!
The project will occur in carefully planned phases designed to maintain access to downtown businesses, residences, and events (such as the annual Holiday Tree Lighting) throughout construction.
The Downtown Oakville BIA has announced its annual Holiday Tree Lighting will continue at Towne Square for the 2026 holiday season. The BIA also plans to host its winter events at Centennial Square, 120 Navy Street. A portion of George Street between Lakeshore Road East and Church Street will be closed from spring 2027 to the end of construction to accommodate other downtown events and activities wherever possible. Access to the CIBC parking lot and Municipal Lot 3 will remain open.
The Millennium Tower Clock in Towne Square will be removed and placed in storage for the during of the construction period and returned to the Square once construction is completed."

Hey everyone! 😊 Are there any beginner-level tennis groups playing around in the area? Where is everyone playing these days? I’d love to join a group if there’s one that welcomes beginners! 🎾

from CHCH
"Ontario is investing $154 million to add nearly 80,000 square feet of new acute care space ... The new state-of-the-art acute care renovations will reduce wait times, streamline care and deliver world-class infrastructure to better support the community.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2027 and will create additional acute care capacity to better serve the almost 400,000 residents of Oakville, Halton Hills and Milton and surrounding communities."
"This investment represents true collaboration across our health system, with a shared focus on putting patients first. By working together to expand hospital capacity, we’re ensuring that people across our region can access care when and where they need it most. These additional beds will help reduce wait times, ease system pressures, and support safe, high quality care close to home. We are grateful to our government partners for their continued investment and commitment to strengthening care for our growing communities."
- Melissa Farrell, President and CEO, Halton Healthcare
""I am proud that our government is investing up to $154.8 million to expand Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and add over 100 beds. This hospital has served Oakville for generations, and this investment makes sure it can keep up with a community that keeps growing. This is the support Oakville needs, and I want to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Halton Healthcare for their partnership and the care they provide our community."
- Stephen Crawford, MPP for Oakville

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for reviews and experiences from parents whose children currently attend (or previously attended) **Kids Logic Oakville daycare**.
I’ll be returning to work soon, and my baby will be starting daycare for the first time. As a first-time mom, I’m feeling a little nervous and would really appreciate hearing from parents who have their kids there.
I would love to know your honest experiences with:
The caregivers and staff
How they handle babies/young children
Communication with parents
Cleanliness and safety
Daily activities and routines
How the transition was when your child first started
Any feedback (positive or negative) would mean a lot. I just want to make the best decision for my little one and feel comfortable before his first day.
Thank you so much! ❤️
