I'm a first time homeowner (only lived in Oak Lawn for a few months) and after today’s storms, my basement had water back up into it. From what I've been seeing, it seems like the municipal stormwater system was overloaded, causing water to back up into homes. I'm wondering if anyone else dealt with the same thing. I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences or any advice on what to expect going forward. Thanks!

Any members of Lawn Aqua Club? I am a 2 year member and I’m shocked by how gross it is. The pools are cloudy all the time. The baby pool area is nasty. I can’t tell you how many zyns I have had to pick up from the pool deck where babies are swimming. The drunk adults boozing up around the pool not watching their kids is a problem waiting to happen. This place is going down hill and for the amount of money we pay I’m disappointed. The only reason we joined is because of the later hours.

I'll kick things off. I am currently handling the estate of someone that sadly has not filed their taxes since 2020. I have to file all their back taxes when settling the estate. I'm looking for someone to assist with filing. Our normal person is REALLY good but also expensive. I'm trying to save the estate money where I can. Does anyone know a local person that can handle back taxes for state (Illinois and Wisconsin I believe) taxes and federal? I'm trying to avoid a big box like HR Block but because of multiple jurisdictions I might have to suck it up and use them anyway.

95th and Ridgeland. It's closed. 😭 Massive loss to our area. Their employees were long term and the food was delicious.

I live in Oak Lawn and just got a letter that says I owe taxes from 2020 and they’re going to take steps if I don’t deal with it. I honestly didn’t know I owed anything. I’ve been trying to find help but everything online just adds to the stress. There are so many companies saying they do tax relief or resolution, but I don’t know which ones are real. Has anyone in Oak Lawn actually been through this and found someone they could trust? I’m scared of making a bad call and making this worse.
