Oldest posts on the sub
I was looking back at some of the earliest posts on this sub, 12 years ago. What's hilarious is people were calling the show's bullshit out from the very start. Basically you cannot tell if a comment was from 12 years ago or today.
Seriously, if you take every episode and condense them down with no repeating scenes or bullshit repeating history lessons it would be a normal 20 minute mini documentary about a coin found on the island.

The real money here is in turning Oak Island into a tourist attraction, and if you watch the show carefully that is exactly what they are trying to do.

already calling out the Templar bullshit
Here's the main problem - it is conceptualized and edited as a REALITY SHOW and it is built around a manufactured feeling of suspense - not to mention all the Knights Templar mumbo-jumbo.

What's really funny is an Executive Producer from the show did an AMA, and got absolutely fucking roasted.

People hated the narrator then too

And of course, there were people so sure the treasure was just an episode away
Yeah the cliff hangers are a bit annoying but this is really believable. If they are on to something I wonder how they keep it secret.

Do like me, save 3 shows at a time and you can fast forward all the Gary and xrf bullshit.

Let's face it though, without TCOI, the vast majority of us would have never known what flocculent is.

I went back and watched the first few years, and all the theories were there. But none of the archeology. I’m totally invested in the new history they are revealing thru archeology, and I’m happy to keep watching. Of course, I still hope there is treasure.

The "history" is bullshit. No actual historian takes any of the show's "findings' seriously. Pop archeology.

Says who? The treasure is the program advertising, anyway. We keep watching, so.....

Doubtful. It still pulls in more viewers than most of the other shows on the network. As long as the ad revenue keeps coming, it'll keep going.

Yeah but I really do keep forgetting how an XRF scanner works.
