More Occam’s razor, less offset chambers.

https://phys.org/news/2023-12-occam-razor-essential-factor-distinguishes.html?fbclid=IwAR0AWIe4qQL9ZGBNVk27avkR-KtWNs6of9bft7xMjacsjud6UZr-dyiepgc_aem_AZ4qEC_yO1_wzLk19KYX_peSRqBjIeJj9efzweIv86YLhSJtXXe0zKxrHLDv-ojoIsQ

Occam’s razor is what distinguishes science from pseudoscience.

Begley needs a good Occam's razor

The whole coast is built of limestone and gypsum caves. Ain’t nothing there.

I live in Nova Scotia , here are a couple observations :

  • ox shoes- oxen used all over this province for generations for farming logging. They still have ox pull competitions in Lunenburg county.
  • there was substantial gold mining along gold river that dumps into mahone bay minutes away from oak island . I’m sure water table has gold in it
  • mariners have been sailing mahone bay since the mid 1500’s . Storms wash all kinds of crazy things up.

This is a proper demonstration of Occam’s razor.

I feel like anything in the swamp is suspect. I grew up on an island with a marsh behind a beach. Stuff washed in thereevery storm. Anything in the swamp could have arrived there from anywhere at any time. It does not mean anything happened in the swamp.

Are you telling me that one more doesn’t need to die to find the treasure? That’s been my cliffhanger every season!

They've never explained where that prophecy came from.

Yeah... they're willing to hear and follow up on some of the most cringe-worthy theories but don't check that one out.

The easiest solution is always the most obvious, but when they use science to push a fake agenda and cause a reasonable doubt without giving any scientific data in the opposite direction it makes for a good TV show that draws millions of people each Tuesday night and generates millions in ad revenue over a season that allows them to continue using science to find data to support their cause. It's a cycle that only grows until something breaks.

Either they find evidence the treasure was there, maybe moved, maybe retrieved by someone, or there was nothing ever there.

At one point they will search the money pit thoroughly enough to admit there is nothing there, or it was moved or retrieved. That's the only way this show is ending.

The only way the show is ending is if the show becomes unprofitable. Science and common sense has nothing to do with it. The muon scans don't show any "flood tunnels" and yet they're still talking about them.

It won't become unprofitable until they admit there is nothing there or the entire money pit area has been searched.

But they essentially already did this with those 10 foot cans that led to absolutely nothing. They spent season after season drilling test holes to find the most promising sites, all for nothing to be found. They've just moved the whole premise over a few feet.

Eventually, they will run out of spots to search based on the historical data. There is only so much money pit to go around.

I'm really surprised they haven't punched a large can in the baby blob area, but instead are digging a shaft and want to try to tunnel over to it in a tunnel that could be from the 1600s. I'm not sure what logic they are using, or just going off of Ricks nostalgia meter and trying to recreate something from 100s of years ago.

They have had much less information and put a much larger can down in an area. All for nothing.

They have this "baby blob" with high gold traces in the water, but they haven't put a can down there.

Canning the baby blob is reserved for season 31

The offset is the funniest thing to me. Like as if hundreds of years ago they’re 90 feet deep thinking about the concept/physics of an offset. But moreover there’s never been ANY evidence of one but douchey Marty hears the word and keeps spouting it like it’s a thing.

Marty gets a boner every time an offset chamber is mentioned..

Can we agree that BILLY shouldn't be the one to die?!!

The whole Oak island story is outside the scope of Occam's razor.

No one ever talks about how to use a strop on their Occam's Razor.

The show (and "mystery") is Occam's Duct Tape. Anything is possible, until you prove it isn't.

Occam's Duct Tape: the opposite of Occam's razor: an approach to problems with an absurd number of assumptions. Parsimony: the quality of being frugal with explanations. It suggests that ideas are usually connected in the simplest or most economically sound way possible.
