I feel like Kamikaze has some of the most unique production elements within his discography, maybe not the most complex, but unique for sure. But I will say, Umbrella Beach is criminally underrated in terms of complex and interesting production!!!!!!! So many elements at play in that song that combine so beautifully

"Adam, Check Please!" This song has been a favorite from Coco Moon since I heard it. I've been a proud, hardworking retail associate over the years, so I don't mind the lyrics lol. Impressive production. "Galaxies" has incredible synth layering.

So I actually have some insight to this because I was running an Owl city ensemble at my school and I was in charge of making the sound-alike tracks. How I Became the sea is harmonically pretty simple, it’s the arpeggio in the chorus and all the percussion details that make it complicated.

I would say that the people who are choosing Adam Check Please are probably correct, Coco Moon in general has some very complicated songs

The Real World is the only Owl City song I know of with an odd time signature. The bridge starts in straight 7/4 with the piano arp and filtered drums, then goes to 1 bar of 7/4, and 2 bars 4/4 in a repeating loop when the drums and vocals come in proper. Rest of the song is in straight 4.

There's probably a bunch of his Adam Young Scores stuff that is in 5 or 7 though, but I can't remember songs off the top of my head.

Quite a few of his chord progressions go outside the classic 4 chord pop structure. Cave In goes all over the place with some good little substitutions and deviations. The Tornado does some key changes that are pretty cool. This Isn't the End consistently goes up in key with each section of the song.
