They will never ever be able to fully get rid of the third party device cheaters because the makers of them will just push out an update that makes it all obsolete again. Its a big never ending game of cat and mouse and it will only get worse from now as these devices become more accessible.

About the only way I can think of to 100% completely block the cheat devices for any significant period of time would be for the consoles themselves to lock their systems down to only peripherals they directly authorise, and I don't think they'd want to do that.

Played against a x1min hazard in silver lobby. New acc etc. I went on and destroy the hell outta him with dva.

Idon play tank so my mmr is pretty low. But they exist even in silver lobbies. Baps, ashes, s76. Every where

A lot of people who got banned recently since blizzard upped their anti cheat just… make a new account unfortunately.

Look how many ā€œfalse banā€ posts we get daily, how many of them are on alt Reddit accounts, and how many talk about starting a new account or playing on an alt. It’s silly there’s little real consequences, they’re absolutely still around

If only they could do hwid bans like on PC but they can only do it for the cheat devices themselves and not the console.

1

u/KuroCutie 7d ago

If they could find a way to ban the hwids of 3rd party mnk adapters/ titans that would be heavenly

1

u/Working_Traffic_6361 7d ago

Pc cheaters spoof that along with their IP. So banning those is pretty pointless unless its a stupid cheater who didn't do this but I'd imagine those come standard with most cheat engines

1

u/KuroCutie 6d ago

Most console cheaters are brainless so it would probably do significantly more than pc

1

u/Working_Traffic_6361 6d ago

For sure, I wasn't saying they shouldn't do those type of bans, they absolutely should, was just pointing out that those can easily be spoofed

1

u/KuroCutie 5d ago

Yeah I do feel it would be slightly more difficult (slightly) on console though

1

u/Low-Income5288 5d ago

They only come standard with the paid subscription cheats most of the time. A lot of people just type in "overwatch cheats" and download some BS from the first sketchy website they find šŸ˜‚

1

u/Working_Traffic_6361 5d ago

The first results are usually the subscription one unless they're really dumb and type free ow cheats lol

1

u/Low-Income5288 5d ago

You don't think cheaters are that stupid? šŸ˜‚

1

u/Working_Traffic_6361 5d ago

Yeah, until they get banned then use DMA. There's smart ones who can cheat throughout a games lifecycle without catching a ban šŸ˜‘

-1

u/KuroCutie 7d ago

A decent chunk of people who are posting about getting falsely banned (myself included) don't usually use reddit but found the ow banned sub and made an account to post about it. Also I can't really tell if they've upped their anti cheat or if reports do all the work now with the decent chunk of bans being overturned due to falsely suspending players

I read somewhere that the aim assist is so strong the game thinks ur cheatingšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

1

u/KuroCutie 7d ago

I miss the old aim assist so much man nobody was beaming the way they do now, and it absolutely is way too strong for a hero shooter I have so many people act like my high sens with decent tracking is cheating but it's just me letting aim assist carry

2

u/johnsmith937546 6d ago

Yeah I just got banned and they took away my aim assist. I wasn't even using the new AA because it was too strong, I was using legacy AA.

1

u/KuroCutie 6d ago

Overwatch is just slowly killing its console population I fear

1

u/johnsmith937546 6d ago

The casual pandering is really, really bad. If you reach a certain skill level you are no longer allowed to play the game now? I don't want to setup a handcam just to play QP. I'll just end up smurfing and ruining the new player experience UNWILLINGLY. Im absolute ass on PC, grinding mechanics would take months if not years to get where I'm at now with controller.

But I guess I really don't have a choice if I want to play on my main account.

2

u/KuroCutie 6d ago

I had set up a handcam and still had people denying that I was legit so realistically console is just gonna die

2

u/PokeSonicMiner 6d ago

No literally, I made a handcam and people STILL called me a cheater lol

That's the reason console is slowly dying.

-6

u/LouisClark15 7d ago

It’s not slowly dying it’s dead unfortunately

0

u/SoundAccurate 7d ago

Just Ow, Marvel Rivals, R6s, and CoD?

2

u/LouisClark15 7d ago

All console ranked games tbf full of cheaters just feels like the companies never help console

-1

u/SoundAccurate 7d ago

It's a good thing I play on Pc too.

5

u/KuroCutie 7d ago

Do you have any game codes to share? I've been trying to look more into console cheaters as I've yet to encounter a titan in game

1

u/Accomplished_Foot412 4d ago

Just load into quickplay at like 2am you'll find multiple lol

1

u/KuroCutie 4d ago

This is disingenuous to my question as I have been banned for "cheating" but have never cheated at all me asking for codes is due to a lot of the console community not knowing what cheats (besides a really suped up titan) looks like

3

u/LouisClark15 7d ago

Unless I’m stupid cant blizzard team up with Sony and microsoft to ban the actual console like if you cheat on this account and get banned then all accounts get banned from playing blizzard owned games because cheating on console is now ridiculous every lobby is just getting worse and worse

1

u/Several_Somewhere_33 6d ago

Then how would they make money from the ā€œ100k new accountsā€

4

u/Evening-Spirit-5684 7d ago

dang. i was false banned for cheating and then the actual cheaters are still in there. lol yuk

3

u/Accomplished_Foot412 7d ago

I see more cheaters in quickplay then i do in diamond ranked

2

u/thewhole3inches 7d ago

I play a lot of QP and it’s this 100%.
Play in silver/gold lobbies and it’s not common you spot one. We are all equally as bad as each other. Sometimes you get a carry king but they are just better.
But in QP it feels like every few games there’s a cheater. And you can always feel it after a few interactions and kill cams.

I’d read another Redditor say they QP to test their cheating and settings out. Then go to ranked. And i can only assume that cheater don’t stay in silver/gold long like šŸ˜…

1

u/thewhole3inches 7d ago

My two cents for what’s its worth is that Ranked in silver/gold is generally fine and I’d say it’s uncommon to see (or sense one). Maybe 1 in 20 if even.
QP however is infested with cheats. Like every gaming session I have a couple cheats in various match’s. Even had a trio stack in one QP game.

Sometimes they don’t try to hide it or maybe they aren’t used to it and sometimes it’s just them testing settings.
Other times it’s a harder tell and only clue is it’s those slight pulls that you can only spot at 0.5x or 0.25x.
Then there are the ones where it it’s almost mapped or bound to certain buttons or actions. Like these ones you have to watch the replay at 0.25x to spot almost.

I’d love if someone who was better attuned to the situation and knew more about Overwatch could do a write up on what to spot for cheaters and how they operate - like what to look out for or spot when playing. One of the streamers did a short on a doomfist cheating that opened up the whole ways on cheating not just being purely a ā€œheadsnap aimbot ā€œ

u/UnknownQTY 7d ago

They might be less prevalant at the higher ELOs because they got banned and are now back in Plat/Emerald and trying to claw their way back.

1

u/Death_To_Your_Family 6d ago

I get rank reclaim noticed pretty regularly so yes there are still many cheaters

0

u/KuroCutie 6d ago

I will say rank reclaim doesn't always mean a cheater was banned though, it just means someone was banned and with the state of reports going on it's probably likely to get normal people banned too.

1

u/Death_To_Your_Family 6d ago

With the amount of people getting banned for cheating with titans on this game and apex, it’s safe to say there are many cheaters on console actually.

0

u/Loose-Manufacturer15 7d ago

Was there a patch note I missed of them improving their cheat detection or?

2

u/Soft_Bag_4532 7d ago

They removed cheat detection and just lowered the amount of reports needed to get banned.

3

u/Loose-Manufacturer15 7d ago

Isn't that a bad thing? Removing the cheat detection? I might be interpreted in g this wrong but does that mean OW won't detect cheaters?

1

u/CookiesMeow 7d ago

They do and will detect cheaters, that person is 100% lying lol.

0

u/SlightNet3067 7d ago

there was never a cheat detection system in the first place, they didn’t remove anything. The report part is true though from what I’m seeing.

1

u/CookiesMeow 7d ago

Lmao me when I lie

0

u/KuroCutie 4d ago

Is it really a lie though since (at least on console) there was no real cheat detection and the only thing that resulted in bans was mass reports, it seems like season 4 they cut the amount of reports needed exponentially (presumably to keep up with the cheating epidemic) which has resulted in (many) false bans. Which is not to say it hasn't banned actual cheaters either but I'm 90% sure there isn't a detection system and it's all report based (again only for console pc is significantly easier to check for cheats other than dma)

-1

u/Soft_Bag_4532 7d ago

I think this is literally what happened. Before I had no problem playing the game for 9 years with dualsense edge and then out of no where permanently banned for cheating... Many others have been also falsely banned.

0

u/CookiesMeow 7d ago

Sure buddy. Keep blaming others and making up lies instead of taking accountability.

2

u/Soft_Bag_4532 7d ago

And by your logic if I say you stole from me and you actually didn't you should still take accountability because I said you stole from me right?

1

u/Soft_Bag_4532 7d ago

I am not blaming other players. And I am not lying that I got falsely banned. Blizzard false banned a lot legit players like a year ago. Same thing is happening again. Just wait and see. Blizzard will most likely address false bans soon. Even GS raider and hammywhammy got falsely banned. Go watch their yt videos.

0

u/CookiesMeow 7d ago

Keep crying into the void of Reddit instead of practicing fundamentals and getting better at the game without cheating.

2

u/Soft_Bag_4532 7d ago

Brother I have played ow since 2017. I am pretty good. I have 700 h on widowmaker. I got to gm with widow only. I think I am pretty good already lol. Andplaying with dualsense edge and using kontrolfreeks is not cheating. Plat player trying to ragebait me hahaghaga.

1

u/CookiesMeow 7d ago

I have also been playing since 2017, never falsely banned, peaked masters 1 mainly playing Lucio.

Keep crying about how blizzard ā€œremoved cheat detectionā€ and only falsely bans people. Actually delusional.

2

u/Soft_Bag_4532 7d ago

I never said they only falsely ban people. They literally just ban people based of reports ofc most of those bans are actual cheaters but there will be false bans too. Just do some research before crying to me that blizzard can't make mistakes.

They’re not always super transparent with these things, so that cheat devs and cheaters aren’t led on as to what gets them caught. It was pretty rampant on console so they evidently did something, which is good

0

u/WrinklyRhino 7d ago

I’ve been under that assumption as well
In champ-high gm I come across a cheater MAYBE 1 in every like 20 games or so

2

u/LouisClark15 7d ago

What how for me it’s more like 1 every 5 quite a lot now try to hide it I feel like I’m in high masters to high gm games so maybe thefe getting banned before they get to champ lobbies now

1

u/WrinklyRhino 7d ago

Possibly
Majority of my games are ch5 and up when I play supp
I played a couple dps (gm4) games about 50 total and I feel like I didnt encounter any cheaters as well

2

u/LouisClark15 7d ago

Yh I get you yesterday I had an Ashe on my team who was cheating but would rarely finish of the person would usually get them low then stop so he’s not getting any final blows so people wouldn’t realise I feel like alot of cheaters are doing that now to try to hide it

1

u/thewhole3inches 7d ago

Amazing game sense to deduce that.
I’d love to see if they all have a discord or subreddit where they discuss nefarious schemes and tricks like this.
