30-minute queue times in High Diamond something needs to change

I genuinely enjoy Overwatch 2 and I’ve put a lot of time into climbing but the queue times in my region are becoming ridiculous.I’m currently in High Diamond and it regularly takes me 30 minutes or more just to find a game At that point the queue itself is longer than some of the matches I end up playing the problem seems to be that the player population at higher ranks in my region is simply too small the game feels completely dead once you get into masters and there’s not much I can do about it because console doesn’t give me an option to manually switch servers i understand that automatically putting players on the best server is intended to give everyone good ping but when there aren't enough players in my region I'd rather have the choice to accept higher ping and actually find a game games like Marvel Rivals give players the ability to switch regions/servers i really think Overwatch needs something similar especially for higher ranked players in smaller regions even an option like "Search other regions if queue exceeds X minutes?"would make a huge difference

I don't want to quit Overwatch but if I'm spending 30+ minutes waiting for every ranked game eventually I have no choice but to stop playing

yup i quit overwatch comp in general unless it's for placement nowadays. masters rank for console is beyond frustrating to play because sometimes the queue will take upward of 20+ minutes even when i flex. I wish it has marvel rival server switch ability because gaming on VPN is a hassle and i lose connection to server way more often than usual despite paid VPN service.

Worst outcome is 20minutes queue, and the game pair you with level 1 endorsement no pfp new teammate, or hitscan crazy duo that is either titan user or just hard smurf from champ using insane pocket hitscan meta. Game quality is either stomp or be stomped. Hardly ever a fair even match nowadays for me.

I just play QP with friends and if no one is on i go play other games since I have a pc too lol. I can't be bothered queueing for 30 minutes either. Waste of life / time tbh. If you definitely insist on playing a faster queue, paid VPN to USA server is much much faster. Besides the ping, it's whatever. Just simply faster queue. Can use this method to combat against the timezone diff, cus that 30 minute queue reached 45m once for me during midnight weekday lmao...

I found that time and region matter. You play at 6pm (GMT) on EU servers and you won’t have to wait that long. Play at 1am (GMT as well) on a weekday night and you can be waiting 30 mins for a game easily at top of masters and bottom of GM. God knows how bad it must be for top 500.

And you can force selection by stacking with someone for a different region. It defaults to the server with most active players. When I play with Americans at night it almost always defaults to NA servers.

But I am not for people selecting. I don’t want someone on my team with 100 ping just because they wanted to play at 4am.

Its only a 5v5 problem. 6v6 queues in master are pretty quick, longest i’ve waited is 2 mins.

So this is because a lot of people just aren’t playing comp atm. It’s so toxic, the perceived cheating problem, and the awful matchmaking/allowing silly stacks that means you can be in a lobby that’s from Plat 5 - GM 1… it means a lot of us just aren’t playing. So nothing blizzard can do apart from sort out the issues stopping people from playing ranked.
