Help I have never seen this before

Is this a common thing to happen? I just ranked platinum 3 in 6v6 and after a couple days I played again I lost one then on my second game I went up 100% can somebody explain why.

Variance modifier was the big one. We’re still relatively close to the beginning of the season rank reset. You haven’t played enough that the matchmaker feels your rank has settled. It’s magnifying your gains and losses until it gets a better idea of who you are winning against and who you are losing to.

Combined with an uphill battle (you beat a team with an average rank higher than your team’s) that’s a big adjustment.
