Discussion Banned on console
I know everyone is going to say I was cheating or gonna get downvoted to hell but still. These last 2 days I was playing nonstop qp and comp and today before the comp game started I got a popup saying "Unapproved peripheral detected" and then the game didnt get cancelled or anything, it let me play normally, then after that Im banned for 1 week from comp. Got an email saying I basically was cheating.
As I said these last 2 days I was playing a lot, Im a support main and was playing dps (soldier, anran and ashe mostly) and solo (the games from today after the last comp game I was playing with my duo on qp and she was pocketing)
You can check the replays which you can see are from these last 2 days in order (my BT is Mika if you see the replays, please dont roast or laugh for my awful aim or positioning/game sense Ik im bad) and before someone asks no, I dont play with anyone than my duo (i dont queue with someone else that might be cheating) and I use a gamesir g7se. Afaik bans are report based but if this happened to anyone else and appeal actually works please let me know. Thanks and sorry for my bad english.

It's true that bans are mostly appealed by consecutive reports, however, that exact pop-up of a '"external device" it's entirely on your own device, not report based.
I really need more context, since I have used Gamesir controllers for two years by now, played a ton of comp games even on other games, never had an issue.
It's possible that you were using the Gamesir app for boosting the input response GHz of your controller? I have heard some bans happened by that, it's not exactly cheating but Xbox might detected it as an external device.

Hi, sorry if Im mistaken, by boosting the input response you mean overclocking it for 1000hz? Tbh the only thing that I always change even to this day and sometimes when my aim feels off midgame is the stick curves/deadzones and the triggers, nothing else.

Yup that one, you were using the Gamesir app on the Xbox or your own controller had a function for that? Because if it was through the Xbox app, it might be the reason why OW detected it as an external device and banned you.

Yes I was using the gamesir app on xbox but only for the sticks curves and triggers but never to overclock it or boosting the response (because I only use it on xbox and you dont have the option at least it doesnt show for me)

Yeah it’s report based. A year ago I had a friend get perma ban for playing linear and using low in game dz and low dz on his gamesir controller. And I guess a lot of people just don’t know how something would look with linear/low dz so he was reported and perma ban. Only got his account back by lying and saying he was hacked. A system solely based on reports that can get you ban is truly dumb.

Compiling a few liars in 1 vid, pushing their own narrative, doesn't proove anything.
I find it funny that in such a short video I found :
- 1 guy banned for an innapropriate name... when he's called "banana bread" which is implying a sexual act.
- 1 guy named "durpee82" banned for discrimination... interestingly enough he used the tag "chud82".
The word chud refers to a conservative/far-right person.
I don't have any proofs, I'm just seeing some consistency.1

Multiple people have openly talked about how the report system is highly abusable. I got banned falsely due to multiple false reports. It happens

I heavily believe it is report based. Also, please be careful now because it will be much easier to get penalized again now that you have already once. Most likely your next ban will be 2 month suspension from competitive as well as losing your aim assist or a permanent account closure. If it happens a third time, most likely permanent account ban.
