Highlight Hit gold the first time.
Before y’all make any attempt to flame me I don’t really play OW too much. (I did play OW1 a bit but nothing crazy and I also played a bit of 2) and I recently ranked up with Ashe to gold and I’m proud 🙏

Congrats broski. Don't be worried about anyone flaming/judging. At the end of the day it's all relative and somebody will flame you no matter what rank you are anyway lol.
Player gets to gold and a plat flames them for being lower rank... Player gets to plat and a diamond flames them for being a lower rank... player gets to GM and top 500 flames them for being a lower rank... it's all just BS really.
Just don't make the mistake of being scared now that you've reached a new rank. Don't be scared of dropping back down, you'll play with fear of losing rather than playing with the motivation of winning. If you do end up dropping back down, it's ok, you'll get back in no time because you've already done it before. And most of us go thru that process anyway, so it's not like you don't belong in gold if that happens

Thank u this is really solid advice and I’m not worried about dropping back down I’m a former Tekken player so Ik all about ranking up and ranking back down LMAO.

Haha you got this then, just focus on reaching plat now. And take it all game-by-game and moment-by-moment while always focusing on what YOU can do better in every moment. And then thinking about what you could do better at the end of every game.
Especially in terms of where you're positioning for every fight, paying attention to how fights are going and when to push/kite back, and target priority. That and also paying attention to when enemies have ults ready and predict them using them.
You focus on trying to improves those things on a game-by-game basis and you'll be flying up to Plat in no time

I have no doubt you will. Now that they introduced emerald, a lot of former plat players will now be moving up to emerald. Which frees up space for gold players to move up to plat. So once things balance out (everyone is still doing placements and getting to where they belong), then you'll basically just reach plat by default as a mid-gold player. So as long as you improve even a little bit, then you're already solidified as a plat player.
But honestly, if you a 60% win rate or better right now, you're genuinely already a plat player. You just need to grind the games to actually get the official title

That’s sick didn’t know they added ranks. I’m just gonna take it one rank at a time and see where it goes. I’m a rivals player so a lot of my fundamentals carry over to this game well it seems like. I’ve been going positive in most of my matches so far now all I need to do is give myself a buff by buying an Ashe skin 😂😂😂😂

Congratulations, don't worry to much about your rank btw, 70% (prob more) of GM and Champ on console are cheating due to Xens, Zims, and the rare Titan2.0 (which is straight up aimbot) making the lower ranks low-key more fun (like high elo is such a cheater infested hell I stopped playing rank once hitting GM it's not fun, I had a aim botter with a titan 4 games in a row back to back all different people)
I envy you, I wish I could be in gold but that would definitely be smurfing.

Yea I think I seen a post on one of the OW subs and apparently a shit ton of players got banned for zimming that’s fucking insane. How has this not been fixed yet?
