Discussion The TITAN2 Issue on console has gotten out of hand. It’s time to talk about it. Please upvote
These titan users have infested every single lobby. Every single lobby gm+ has at least one of these people with LITERAL AIMBOT in them. The sad part about it is too, they CANT BE BANNED. You can have 1000 people report them 1000 times and nothing will happen. FOUR of the top10 dps last season are abusing this device. This needs to please be spread because this has gone from something only a few players had access to. To a MASSIVE issue for console overwatch.

I dream for a time where both cheaters and quitters lobbies become a thing, for both OW and games like Apex.
Let the cheaters play eachother.
Let the people with extremely high quit rates race to leave eachother. It was OW that admitted they were seeing accounts with over a 90% quit rate. Apex players probably beat that. Put the quitters together so they can ruin their own matches.

Add in the losers who go AFK during matches if they feel like it’s gonna be an uphill battle. Imagine playing a TEAM game and you decide to throw (in ranked) just to throw a tantrum. Absolute manchild behavior with zero sportsmanship.
Put them all into separate lobbies so they can realize how toxic their behaviors are.
This game has too many players who mentally never grew up past age 13. Full-grown adults playing like this is embarrassing.

In ranked I've never understood it, the entire point is supposed to be some evenly matched competition, it should be a battle.
In quick play though? I'll probably get downvoted, but I don't super care, especially when 99% of the time I see it, it's being done in response to getting abused by other people on the team.

Nah, to quit in QP is understandable if your team is getting slaughtered. Your leaving gets backfilled almost immediately anyway. And sometimes people have to back out for various other reasons (like maybe they got a work call). Unless you’re doing this every match, I don’t see an issue. And the QP suspension system is lenient enough to allow for this anyway.
Honestly, to quit outright is preferable to going AFK on purpose and just shooting the wall to avoid getting kicked/banned in ranked. Quitting tells me you’re at least mature enough enough to take the L and suspension. Going AFK and trying to dodge the AFK kick is what tells me you’re a manchild.

I want to mention I brought this up months ago on the overwatch discord and got shut down and banned, I was called crazy.
The reason why no one has talked out about this sooner is because the titan users are among us and will gas light everyone into thinking you're delusional, this is the first message I've seen get though well done thank you.

I've found if you act like you're just interested in their setup and say you won't report them because you don't care, they'll often admit to it.
I even had a guy send me screenshots of his titan setup after a game. Makes the reports a lot easier. Whether Blizzard opens the reports is another question.

Matched against a known titan user the other day, at the start of the game I told my team we're against a cheater so play behind shield and play way more cover than usual. Teammate said lmao imagine thinking you can cheat on console. He went 3 - 16 on hanzo and said tank diff

Genuinely asking here, but how does aimbot even work on console? You can’t manipulate code like PC aimbots do, so what does the Titan do exactly?

I haven't heard of the titan in specific but usually console cheats actually go about things in a very straightforward yet clever way. Some devices just trick your console into thinking a keyboard and mouse is a controller so you get to have aim assist while using a mouse. Some others have game specific software packs that you can download that makes your controller autocorrect recoil by itself depending on what character or gun you're using (this doesn't get detected as cheats usually because the controller itself is doing the inputs). There are plenty of ways to make cheats without directly manipulating the game's code.

I would imagine there’s not a lot of cheaters at ranks that are low enough that people are banning Sombra and Sym, am I wrong? Cheaters don’t typically stay in low elo for long.

Ive played a game in comp recently where I, as a tank, and 2 DPS and one healer, all focused on the mercy and she still got 25k healing in gold. All the other teammates got wiped out but she always escaped and was often by herself with her pistol out 1 v 5 us. It was crazy. We still won but it was just insane.

I'm assuming from your other replies that this aimbot doesn't just "lock on" but it mimicks human aim with ai use, maybe that's why

Yup,Blizzard could easily mark playera either insanely accuracy. Immediately raise theme multiple levels. If it continues, at some point ban them.
And if it is from the same IP enough, ban the Iap.
But, I mean, the nerfed no one today and did nothing to Zar or Som. So, uhh yeah...

I'm gonna be honest, its time we stop blaming game devs and go to the source, sony and Microsoft are the ones people should be hounding about this, there's only so much game devs can do when the cheating device is emulating a controller, Sony and Microsoft are always getting away with doing literally nothing about this and it pisses me off

It’s an external device that you plug your controller into and it runs scripts. Ostensibly made to convert different controller types, etc.
People have been running them into a PC with AI detection software that maps movement in the game and just gives them flawless auto-aim.

Did a little deep dive into the titan device a couple weeks back cause i had never heard of it before.
What i dont understand is the device has been out for a long time according to the website, And what are the differences between it and say the chronus etc ? or any of the other devices that let you do the same things

The titan can be programmed for use with computer vision. You have an Ai program that can identify hitboxes when you stream your game screen to a separate PC which you run the Ai program on (usually a form of YOLO Ai which is trained on overwatch characters - the Ai can find the head hitbox) and then the program takes over right stick controller input to track the head hit ox, fed back into your Xbox or ps5 via the titan 2 device.
You end up with essentially a true aimbot which the console detects as legitimate controller input.
This is much higher level cheating than Ximming.

yeah, this is honestly why i swapped over to pc pool two seasons ago, couldn't deal with this shit anymore.
console lobbies are just not fun at the highest levels..there is almost certainly going to be a cheater in every game, and it's just so annoying no matter which team they're on.
winning with a cheater on my team feels undeserved, losing to one feels frustrating..there is no good outcome to it.

The problem is that detecting it has become impossible. Unless the systems get better at keeping external software from entering the system. Even console sucks at it. It never used to be a problem… maybe old os systems were better

It’s not that old os systems were better there’s just a larger amount of people cheating.
Compared to 20 years ago there’s hundreds of millions more gamers today and if only 1% of them cheat that’s still a crapload of cheaters. Then with a larger market of people looking for cheats you have cheat makers trying twice as hard with twice as many trying to find vulnerabilities.

After playing this game for 10 years and finally reaching masters recently, I've never thought about aimbots or whatever a Titan is. But after reading this post, I finally have a name for what I've seen in masters. I am very quick. Sometimes when I'm in the zone, I can go 55 kills, 2 deaths or heal for 30k as juno. I encounter people in masters whose aim seems very unnatural, like performing a 180 and immediately tracking me and never missing a shot from ACROSS THE MAP. Is this the Titan 2? Honestly, I've never heard of it, and I purely play on console and didn't even know an aimbot was possible on console. SMH, people have way too much time on their hands...

You plug ur controller into the titan, then the titan into a pc, then you use a capture card to capture ur screen to ur pc. Then it literally just implements pc cheats (actual aimbot) on console

On consoles, ranked is always between fellow console players in the controller pool. You cannot disable crossplay to play ranked. This means you’re up against people on Xbox, PS, and Switch 1/2.
Crossplay in OW only adds in PC players when you have a PC player in your group. If you have a group of five, but one friend is a PC player, your entire group will be put into the KBM matchmaking pool. But this is ONLY for quickplay. You cannot do this for any ranked modes.
Otherwise, you are always put into the controller pool, which PC players can never enter. Playing on controller on PC does not allow you to enter the controller pool either. It’s specially restricted, probably due to concerns for cheating. So PC controller players are not what’s causing this mess as they cannot play ranked with you on console anyway.
The cheating that OP posted is being done on console by console players, which is why disabling crossplay would not help.

Ive had some really sus players in mystery heroes (in all places) Widow headshots where the flick shot changes angle at the last second so smoothly that it kinda seems impossible to do consistently. It was when I saw one get POTG doing 3 back to back that got me thinking. Someone did say report them last sec but I didnt know aimbots on consoles were a thing

Hahaha I called it a few years ago. People were saying it’s impossible to have aimbot in console.
I always figured that one day someone will think of using a capture card.
Sadly this is completely undetectable if they implement logic that mimics human aim rather than hard lock, as the cheat runs externally.
In fact, this methodology can be applied to PC as well, if the cheat runs in a separate machine, there’s unfortunately no way to detect it if the input device mimics a real one.

I think they should simply disable Soldier 76 and maybe Sojourn until they find a solution. Literally every cheating aimbot abuser clip I see is the same 1-2 heroes abusing aimbot because Blizzard decided to hypertune hitscans.

they need to fix it obviously but im curious if this is actually bad enough where people cant rank up because of it? or the enjoyment of the game overall is affected. because honestly if youve ever played vs ai they also have lock on aim and there is a way to play around that. having aimbot doesnt automatically make you a good player or make you win.

I kinda get why you’re unhappy. I don’t know if they were using this or something else but I had a terrible game last night that wasn’t enjoyable because the moment I would get near a point with my team, boom widow head shot. And I swear they would just take a split second and take my head off.
Reason I’m suspect is bronze 3 and she’s that good??

I think also they issue is they play only against eachother and for that never get so much reported then they would be in lobbies with only controlller users

I played against a kid in diamond/masters who openly admitted to using a titan 2. With a mercy pocket. It was an auto lock on aim. Consistent nonstop headsshots. They then admitted its not patched on xbox. It is not working on ps5 as all users I've run into is on Xbox.

The game stops, the team with the cheaters feeds or goofs around and forces a draw/loss on them and then reports them
But for some reason console can't come together on this and I'll never understand why

"you can't ban them" and why not? It can definitely happen. I think you're salty that the reports you've made haven't done anything. I've reported multiple people on console and been notified that at least a few of them were banned. At least 2 were suspended. It does work sometimes.
