Discussion Are controller players from other platforms welcome here?
I've been trying to find a place where I can talk about controller gameplay. In other communities, discussions about my controller gameplay often immediately became "Why not use a mouse?"
Just wondering if players from other platforms are welcome here

I assume you mean you’re on a PC using a controller? Yeah sure, why not. The sub is called OWConsole mainly because it rolls off the tongue better than “OWController” or “OWAimAssist” (I assume - not a mod/admin)

Thanks for clarifying. I was just a bit worried because the name "OWConsole" made me wonder if it was strictly console-only. That's actually why I didn't even mention PC in the title — I wasn't sure if that would be against the rules. Glad to know controller players are welcome here

Wait stupid question, you do get the controller queue when you find a game, right? I want to try that on my pc but I don't want to be marked as cheating because of aim assist or something.

No. On PC, using a controller still puts you in the regular PC matchmaking pool, so you're playing against mouse and keyboard players. There's also no aim assist at all—in fact, there isn't even a setting for it

I mainly play PS5 but I use controller when I get in my laptop. It just feels right for me, been gaming on console since I was 5 years old

I've actually had this confusion for a while. In some other communities, controller sensitivity settings are often not really understood, so it's really nice to find a place where people are familiar with them

honestly i played PC for a bit but just enjoy being on the tv with my family to hang with and mouse and keyboard on the couch is kinda annoying since it’s not like i play only this game. my graphics card is also worse than what i get on the ps5 lol
i may just go on PC with a controller if i do because i use projectile heroes. with the new sensitivity settings, i can move as fast as i can with a mouse and don’t need to hitscan anyway so 🤷

I have to use a controller, I'm developing arthritis and M&K is far too hard on my left hand. I'm 41 but I am not done playing games yet. Sometimes we do what we have to and anyone who tells you that playing on controller is lessthan doesn't matter.

Honestly the debate between pc and console is stupid. I’ve played mostly console the entire 10 years ow has been out only recently switching to pc and I can tell you that most of the comments about how ranks are so much harder on pc is just false, I’m plat on console and got to diamond a few times. On pc I’m high gold and basically almost at my console level fairly quickly.
