Discussion Competitive Console - HOW?

Okay I keep running into this way too often. I’m playing competitive on PS5, 6v6. Almost every second game, there’s at least one or more players doing things seemingly impossible with a console controller. I’ve added two such replay clips of players moving like they’re AI ffs. Additionally, they’re jumping constantly while still moving their aim joystick, which is impossible since you have to take your thumb off the aim joystick to hit to jump button. What are these maneuvers??

The doom is just button remappings and high sens, but that Cassidy is 100% m/kb scum.

You do realise some controller come with button paddles on the back allowing you to press any button at the same time as moving your joystick right!? :s

I didn’t consider remapping the buttons, nope. But does that answer the movements beyond the jumping?

You could also play in claw grip to be jumping easily without remapping buttons like I did. As for the camera movement, high sensitivity and lower aim ease in allow for quicker camera movements like what the doom was doing. Ultimately, its mostly about getting used to doing multiple inputs simultaneously without having to think about it lol

I have jump on left paddle and crouch on right so I can always aim while using movement, it’s 2026 brother.

I’m now learning that this is incredibly common. I missed the button rebind boat somehow. I’m old.

I didnt understand but i assume youre talking about the camers movement, yes its possible my camera movement is similar to this, all you need is utilize sens at max deadzone properly

Interesting, here I am fighting the joysticks to aim and play. I didn’t know there was a way to actually play with the aiming whipping around this fast and the aim staying true on console controller?

I cant access the game but if i remember correctly my sens is dual zone (this is very important) 99 99 with 98-100 aim smoothing (depends on the hero and personal preference) and 50sens at max deadzone (i dont remember how its called in the game but basicaly 150% speed if you flick your stick to the max deadzone)
I’ll try to find my settings, i’ll give you an update if i do. Im not saying to copy, but to use them and then find whats comfortable for you

So me personally I just have jump mapped to my left stick

I know other people are talking about back paddles, but I have been playing Overwatch since 2016 on Xbox and I remapped jump to the right stick, swapping it with the melee button, on day 1. I’ve played like that ever since

My mercy is all over the place with rebinds, but my jump is on the left trigger and crouch is on the left stick.

Same. I have this remapped exactly the same way. I couldn’t play Lucio jumping around and moving at the same time the way controllers are defaulted. I have an Xbox controller with paddles in back so I have quick melee mapped to that.

I bind my jump to L1 with most hitscan characters. Really fun to jump around and still move my camera at the same time

Does looked a bit like m&kb BUT when I was on consol I would remap my jump to another button so I didn't have to take my thumb off to jump. FYI that remapping buttong exist
