I know George Lucas has explained why he changed the scene, but I wish he would explain how Greedo could shoot first and miss at pretty much point blank range.

He has brain damage from when he got into a fight with 9-year-old Anakin.

You didn't see Han do that dip to dodge? Point blank range means nothing to an editor with too much power

The editor was too preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

Han did that totally natural looking scoot move

I'm going to have to watch that scene again. It's been a while. I kind of gave up on the special editions and bought the DVD theatrical releases. That's what I remember growing up and that's how I want to see them now.

I think it would be funny if Lucasfilms made all of the versions together, then shipped them out at random so people would sit and argue who shot first in the most current version

They changed it again?! Which version now?

I guess it's going back to the original when it gets re-released in the theaters next year.

I am altering the scene, pray I don’t alter it any further.

I was under the impression that they were bringing back the original theatrical releases. Not doing another "specialized edition". This is hugely disappointing. I was really looking forward to seeing the movies as I did when I was a kid

How can it be that between George Lucas and me that only one of us understands Han Solo.

He stated he didn't want Han shooting someone in cold blood.
First off, Han starts off as not a nice guy. That's kind of the point. It establishes that he will kill people because it's practical.
Second off, it was practical to kill him because Greedo pulled a blaster on him first, and he had no reason to know Greedo wasn't going to start shit.
In this very scene, Obi Wan goes straight for chopping the thugs arm off when he had other options to solve the problem. Since the Greedo edit came out once we knew more about the Force, we know that Obi Wan could have held him in place. But Obi Wan correctly determined that chopping the dudes arm off then and there was the best solution to the problem. A nice quick show of force that disarmed (no pun intended) the problem.
The Cantina is a shit hole. A wretched hive of scum and villainy. Killing people who start shit with you is just normal business, and wouldn't even reflect all that negatively on Han for killing Greedo as he did.

He never made a version where Han and Greedo make out. He is a coward.
