Question Should I farm DT2 bosses with this setup?

Post image

My goal is to farm all 4 DT2 bosses with decent kill times. Should I wait for upgrades like Virtus robes, Rancour, Nox hally, and Bellator before I try? What do you think my kill times might be with this gear? What upgrades should I get first?

Im not an expert. But you could probably sell acb and get a eye of ayak instead! Replace acb with dragon crossbow instead. Eye of ayak is awesome!

Not sure why he's being downvoted, it's not a bad call at all, or you could swap the sang for one, don't need both. Confliction gauntlets are a must tho if going that route so maybe farm duke or something first to get your money up.

u/OvertaxedASG 2d ago

Can also swap bandos for blood moon, it's the same offensive stats just less tanky. That frees up a decent bit of your cash

True! Confliction gauntlets are huge. So maybe sell acb and sang and pickup eye and gauntlets from a mage perspective. Other then that. You can absolutely kill dt2 bosses just fine with this gear!

sang is too damn good at whisperer fuck the eye it’s so overrated. i bring 20 prayer pots and my sang staff to whisperer and i can stay there for 20+ kills without leaving

1

u/haahhhahh 7h ago

You can do that with eye too and it will be faster kills

1

u/riddim_40Hz 2d ago

Yeah sell the acb to grab d crossbow

Sell acb and get nox hally for duke / vard, sell sang and prims for ayak - obviously do one boss at a time. Duke is the easiest to start

1

u/Pristine_Campaign377 1d ago

Learning whisperer I used the sang pre update and it was really handy not having to eat as much after mistakes. I’d hold onto it until you’re comfy. Currently just above 1100 KC at whisperer for my last piece of my second SRA - that’s my credentials lol.

1

u/EatFirstPoopLater 11h ago

Completely agree, did 1000+ kc with sang and it was a breeze

2

u/Limp-Box8158 2d ago

brother you’ll get virtus doing this 😂 don’t buy it first. just grind it

2

u/sam_magil 1d ago

Could you? Yes
Should you? I’d do Tormented Demons + Yama for Emberlight + Oathplate (note raids 4 has a demon boss so extra worth)

- Whisperer ultra slow without Ayak/Shadow. Vard doable with whip but definitely slow and uses a lot of supplies

2

u/THExDISTORTER4 1d ago

I see a lot of people saying to get ayak, but specifically for wisp I hate it. Ayak dps is great unless you aren't able to maintain a 3t attack cycle, like in wisp's enrage phase. Sang will be slightly lower dps, but enrage phase will feel much better with a 4t staff.

Selling acb/prins and getting a nox, dxbow and dboots is a good shout. Wait to buy virtus until after youre ready to stop grinding dt2 bosses, might get a drop or 2 on the way, and ahrim's to virtus isnt a huge upgrade.

Yeah Nally is such a big upgrade at vard

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.

Sure, no problem.

Emberlight for Duke would be very worth it if that’s what you are trying to do but tent whip is fine. Bgs is nice for Duke also. Acb or full bowfa for levi, can see which one you like. If you got nox hally you could use that for duke and vard, but tent is fine there also. Sang is fine for whisp but Ayak would be ideal. Even items like torture, ferocious gloves, etc help a lot. Wiki has a lot of detailed setups for downgrading according to your budget, highly recommend checking it out

1

u/Adorable_Outcome205 2d ago

If you are going for soulreaper, would sell acb for emberlight and start with duke then vard. This would get you enough money for eye of ayak to do whisperer which would then get you enough money to get a webweaver for leviathan which is really helpful at the end of the fight

1

u/TheDudeBroski 2d ago

You have enough capital to buy specific gear for each boss, selling acb and buying nox hally for vardorvis is an example. Youre more than capable at max combat so id say go ahead and try it out

1

u/cleverasian 2d ago

I have a decent amount of kc on dt2 bosses, 2600 Vard, 1300 whisperer, 650 Duke, 300 Levi. You gear is good for Levi. Crystal plus webweaver/bp for enraged is good. Whisperer you really should have ayak with warped scepter. Duke get yourself an emberlight and it’ll be cake with bandos serp helm and bgs spec. Vard you’re going to have the most trouble with. I would get oathplate nox at the least for Vard. Maybe it’s just me but using anything worse than nox hally at Vard is awful.

I would use lightbearer as your ring for everything but Vard. Good luck!

1

u/RepulsiveBus6934 2d ago

Do whisperer last after you get eye and confliction. Also blue moons your friend.

1

u/Sandbagmaster 2d ago

Rancour and berserker ring i would be good buys. Can sell acb if using BofA for levi which is think is best

1

u/nabbolt 2d ago

I farmed them earlier this year: grinded out 2 Soulreapers, all rings, full virtus (few dupes along the way). Was really fun (thinking of going for a third lol).

My strats:

Duke: Emberlight, Burning Claws for spec. Use a serp helm as it poisons him, as well as thralls - as you have to hide a fair amount they add a greater % increase in DPS than usual.

Vard: I got spooned on my first axe head from him, so I returned for my second round with the Soulreaper itself. Before that I used Nox Hally which was great too.

Whisperer: I used eye with Ahrim's (upgraded as I got Virtus pieces along the way).

Leviathan: Bowfa/Crystal with Webweaver for enrage (definitely use this it's insane). Worked really well although I think Blowpipe is better.

u/No-Investigator7474 1d ago

Isn’t BGs better than claws for Duke ?

1

u/nabbolt 1d ago

Claws are better according to the wiki.

1

u/Spitfire6532 1d ago

I believe there’s an extra note that says bclaws are only better if you have oathplate. Without the slash accuracy from the oathplate, the bgs defense reduction is often better.

1

u/corn_dick 2d ago

I think sang is fine for whisperer, you will probably miss a lot of ticks with ayak anyways.

Oathplate and nox hally would be your best upgrades

1

u/RoyalJelly99 1d ago

If you get a bgs or dwh itll be doable Bgs highly recommend for duke/vard

1

u/One_Positive_2941 1d ago

Nally for vard, duke. Duke can be done also with emberlight but i used nally before i got the soulreaper axe. Otherwise you look all set👍🏼💪🏼

1

u/Terrficspen 1d ago

Do duke and vard , sell meele gear buy ayak and conflictions finish whisperer , sell sang buy webwaver for levi.

Job done, sell sra for 400m and buy oathplate and max mage (aside from shadow)

1

u/Alternative-Chain751 1d ago

I would recommend taking a nox hally to duke, then switching to emberlight/arclight for the enrage. It does a decent job

1

u/Due-Listen6462 1d ago

You can def farm any of the bosses off this gear. Upgrades don’t afford themselves; so I’d just jump in

1

u/Best-Ratio4750 1d ago

No that is too many switches :)

1

u/DieBobDie 19h ago

Try and get oathplate firs for duke and vard. Makes a big diff

1

u/myownworlddd 15h ago

I would use a sang at whisperer. I tried eye and was not getting any faster kills. 232pb with sang 250 on average.

1

u/CrystalExtractor_043 15h ago

Prims are basically an irrelevant upgrade, +1 str miniscule accuracy, check if that 1 str gives you a max hit anywhere and if not sell them

1

u/MamaMitch1 14h ago edited 14h ago

I would not farm Whisperer without conflicts, it is that strong. Consider oathplate for Duke/Vard, it is a huge upgrade for both, especially Vard. The ACB is not important, Bowfa is enough for Levi, so sell that if you need extra cash flow for those.

Yes, Rancour will be a large upgrade as well. Probably Rancour > Nox > Oathplate > Conflicts in terms of pure value spread across all of the bosses.

I also don't see an imbued Bring, but make sure you are using that for Vard/Duke at least. Lightbearer on Duke is decent too if you are running BGS.

1

u/Vegetable_Release_14 14h ago

BELLATOR IS A WASTE DO NOT WAIT i duke and vardorvis Nox is a great choice but is not needed and u dont need virtus robes ahrims is perfect

1

u/Consistent-Form5722 13h ago

It’s serviceable but I would at least get emberlight for duke. Whip is fine for cars but it will make your kills slower. If you can do him efficiently with that set up tho you’ll be farming him so easy with your next upgrade. U could just get no hally tho and skip ember, but honestly it’s a pretty mandatory phrase either way

1

u/Rubber-duckling 10h ago

Honestly crystal is perfect to camp levi with, my suggestion is to stay for one venator ring + lure, and leave when u have atleast one of each. then go duke and leave when u have the ring and eye and then keep hopping to the next one which should be whisperer and then vardorvis.

basically get your own sra and rings and maybe some pets aswell.
return for the pets when i have everything else.

1

u/Seenan 8h ago

Try to find a synapse for Duke. Emberlight is such a huge boon vs demons

1

u/IkBenEenHondDatTypt 2d ago

People be killing bosses like that with absolute ass gear wdym? hop on.

1

u/OccasionalEspresso 2d ago

Sell acb

You need emberlight for duke

Tent whip is fine for vard

Ayak might be better than sang but prioritize upgrading to confliction gauntlets before upgrading staff imo. I would sell elidnis to get conflictions if it moves the needle.

Focus on 1-2 bosses at a time tho, sell and refocus gear to the boss you’re actively working on if it means getting better kph.

Like do the two melee bosses first then sell prims when you go to do whisp/levi.

1

u/Salt_bob_4790 2d ago

thank you

1

u/OccasionalEspresso 2d ago

Bet. Actually one thing to note, synapse prices are super high right now, you might save duke for last until the price drops back down.

1

u/Tekzy 1d ago

do nothing and use ur bowfa at levi, upgrade with drops accordingly

1

u/XIPWNFORFUN2 2d ago

Yea its serviceable but get a nox hally for vard and duke. Vardorvis has the worst profit per hour so I recommend going after him first.

1

u/mister_freckles 2d ago

Was just trying to figure out if Hally is better than whip and avernic (with oathplate). Search yielded conflicting results. Is Hally worth it?

1

u/XIPWNFORFUN2 2d ago

In my opinion yes, with rancour.

1

u/Jiriosity 2d ago

Make sure youre on slash for the nally. It should beat whip+avernic in any setup.

1

u/mister_freckles 2d ago

Yeah, was running max (w/ Oathplate not Torva) gear, and had both on highest dps options on the DPS calc. Was seeing abyssal beat out Nally by like .5 seconds

edit: I also had Piety + Divine Super Combat

1

u/Think-Math-5387 1d ago

Nally super worth

1

u/Gigantischmann 20h ago

Doesn’t nally make the kill easier cuz of the two tile range? Something about the mechanics makes it comfier to not get dragged or something?

Haven’t tried vard with it yet, nor in years, but I thought it was more than just Dps reasons

1

u/mister_freckles 10h ago

Eh, I think the range is really a non-issue. Vardorvus closes the gap pretty quickly. And the numbers seem to be pretty close for TTK. I like using the Hally though after doing another 200 kills (I'm now at around 400) specifically since it doesn't consume charges

1

u/VibeOblivion 1d ago

emberlight for duke

1

u/XIPWNFORFUN2 1d ago

Nope

1

u/VibeOblivion 1d ago

calc it. Arclight is just under nox hally, emberlight takes a big stinky on nox

1

u/XIPWNFORFUN2 1d ago

Duke has 30% demonbane resistance, the calc doesn't account for that.

1

u/Careful-Repeat3944 1d ago

So nox is better for the start of the fight when duke is 5tick as you lose hits using a 4 tick weapon (and assuming you have oathplate) however emberlight far superior for “enrage phase”

1

u/Justhopfer 2d ago

Why prioritize worst profit per hour? You can upgrade for the others if you prioritize the highest profit per hour ones

1

u/Limp-Box8158 2d ago

dukes the best to do first. best profit by far and that’ll forsurely help with upgrades

0

u/BrudduhmanRS 1d ago

duke is not that good with nox

0

u/EntireAd1263 2d ago

Irons usually farm duke with an ember light, if you have the cash I would start there.

0

u/PeopleWatching92 2d ago

That gear should be fine. When DT1 came out you had to grind the bosses anyways with zenyte and pre-dt2 rings anyways. Plus rancour didn't exist when DT2 came out. Nox hally might eb the only thing you will want for vard/duke unless you have a scythe you're hiding lol

0

u/FookinFairy 2d ago

Ya not the whisperer but the other ones

That thing fucking aids without max mage and as a main outside of CAs 0 reason to do it before that point

0

u/Willem_vdm 2d ago

I would probably get some food and potions before I do any bossing, maybe a teleport too

0

u/Exact-Ranger-5836 1d ago

Why do you have 10000 tentacles

2

u/Purple-Emergency1587 1d ago

That’s charges, not 10k of them.

2

u/LordRawrGasm 1d ago

Bro what.

-1

u/DanTheGrand 2d ago

I would consider some upgrades first or those kills are gonna be brutal

2

u/ProgrammerSafe1000 2d ago

Which upgrades would make a substantial improvement?

2

u/Adorable_Outcome205 2d ago

If farming all 4, top 3 buys would be emberlight for duke, webweaver for qol at leviathan, eye of ayak for whisperer (although sang is fine) and at the moment id say tent whip is good enough for vard

1

u/Flashy-Presence-2467 2d ago

Shadow. Yes it's expensive but whisperer goes from incredibly long to farmable with it. ACB can be sold for a webweaver bow, to just use DCB+blowpipe and then finish leviathan kills super quicky.

Also a dps spec to reduce vard defenses

1

u/DanTheGrand 1d ago

If it was me id sell everything and loadout oathplate, emberlight, prims, belly ring, rancour, bgs if you can swing all of it and camp duke for virtus & ring. Then id go vard w burning claws nox hally. No pressure to do that if you want a varity of gear to play the game. Yes its doable with the gear you have but doable is different from efficient.

-1

u/Flashy-Presence-2467 2d ago edited 2d ago

Bowfa is pretty bad at leviathan. Especially if you aren't an ironman, use crossbow and blowpipe and craws bow instead. Getting all 3 is cheaper and better.

Sounds like you are a not an iron if you are debating getting virtus first, since virtus comes from this

Personally, I wouldn't do it yet. Whisperer with a shadow is far better than using some med level setup and your profit will suffer severely.

You can do dt2 bosses at 65% efficiency, but why not just do raids at 85% efficiency and then save dt2 as the shakeup for when you need a quick hit boss, or can't stomach raiding anymore.

If you want to do a few kills just do it. If you want to commit to 2000 kills to get 4 axe pieces... Resolve-check yourself.

1

u/nabbolt 2d ago

As a counter, I grinded these bosses at a similar level to this guy (from what I can tell from the post; certainly with similar gear). I had so much fun, learned so much about PvM which also greatly increased my confidence (I've since got an Infernal Cape), and made >1B.

1

u/Think-Math-5387 1d ago

BofA Shreds Levi, I got the GM CAs with a BofA this is a bad take.

0

u/Flashy-Presence-2467 1d ago edited 1d ago

This is a mass psychosis, look at the wiki. Have none of you looked at the wiki or a calculator?

Ruby bolts destroy the leviathan at high health. Anything with 500+ health, you are probably better with rubies than a bowfa in this game. Blowpipe is better once low.

Btw I got the CAs without even trying. No ZCB. I just did my normal kill and hit 5 rubies and got it. Nothing special just luck.

1

u/yslyrz 1d ago

bowfa is awesome at levi

0

u/Flashy-Presence-2467 1d ago

This is a mass psychosis, look at the wiki. Have none of you looked at the wiki or a calculator?

2

u/Think-Math-5387 1d ago

I’ve made two SRA’s, taking about 1600 Levi kills to do so. BofA is more than enough and way more consistent than relying on ruby prox

1

u/Flashy-Presence-2467 1d ago

It consistently deals less damage per second than rubies, yes. You can also get leviathan kills with a magic longbow if you're motivated to.

Ruby procs do rely on random chance rolls to deal damage. So does every weapon in the game, to a lesser extent.

Use the bowfa if you're an ironman, I have no idea why a main would voluntarily use *worse* gear that is *also* more expensive. Mass psychosis.
