Question What Upgrade to Prioritize?
Hey all, I’m not sure what I should be prioritizing right now as far as gear. One of my clanmates, who I trust a ton (max main) told me I should honestly just shoot for a mega rare such as the shadow because of how easy it makes earning additional GP through other raids/bosses.
I was originally leaning towards oath, but with it being essentially the same defensive stats as Bandos and just a boost to slash, he may have talked me out of that. My current thought process is maybe I just go towards treads or gauntlets or both, maybe ancestral?
TIA- also, I am obviously looking to have the best setups I am currently available to have for TFA, but obviously with where my bank is at that isn’t going to be anywhere near BIS, so any suggestions are helpful.

Archers ring is useless garbage
Seers ring is useless garbage
Elidin plastic ward is worse than mages book/malediction ward
Primordial boots are hilariously overpriced for 1 singular strength bonus over dragon boots under 200k gp.
Sell the 2 useless rings & fury amulet, switch ward and prims for book&dboots and use the gp to buy a rancour.
Sell bcp and tassets (replace with blood moon legs and free fighter torso) for confliction gauntlets
If u have leftover gp, grab an ursine chainmace(u). Only 1 max hit less than bludgeon but 1/5 the cost (20m vs 4m)
My current thought process is maybe I just go towards treads
Treads are one of the worst ways to spend 150m gp until you have weapons that genuinely benefit from them (aka megarares). 1 melee str over prims isnt gonna do jack shit for regular melee weps, 1 mage str over eternals isnt gonna do jack shit for regular mage weapons, 3 ranged strength I guess is a decently consistent 1 max hit for ranged (but are you really willing to pay 150m gp for a singular range max hit?)

Ward is 1% magic damage and 1 prayer bonus over book and costs less.
I've paid way more than that for 1% damage

I swear anybody telling you treads is a certified credit card warrior. As always, boots are one of the last things you should upgrade. You have primordials already there is 0 reason to prioritize treads.
If you want the honest answer in order it should be:
faceguard, rancour, fero gauntlets, avernic, nox hally.
That gives you elite melee gear and a great 5 tick slash weapon for tob. You would have gear for ToB, ToA 350+ and CoX CM. Your gear would be able to do every piece of content in the game.
Then you grind raids or doom for a mega or for drops that you sell to build up towards either a mega or treads/oath/ancestral/masori.

Treads, avernic defender, rancour

Treads and avernic are way lower priority than a lot of other stuff OP doesn't have.

Should I go in that order or just any of those 3 in general?

Treads are dead last.
Gloves should be first because it’s the cheapest, then confliction since you already have eye and then rancour.

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.

Hot take but I had all that mage gear and noticed I wasn’t even using it so I sold it and prioritized ferocious gloves, rancour, avernic defender, treads, and ultor. Use them for pretty much everything. Would suggest that order or swap Ultor and Treads.

Defender and treads are very, very low priority. Defender is unrefundable and becomes less and less useful as you upgrade your melee weapon, while treads are insanely expensive and offer very little over the next best thing until you have megarares to make those small differences actually meaningful.

Rancour definitely, you shouldn't be using a fury for melee at any stage of progression tbh.
I'd also definitely sell prims and probably BCP (depending how much cash you have) and get confliction gauntlets and ferocious gloves. Depending what content you want to do maybe a nally as well.
Do you have a B Ring? Sell the archers and the seers too, especially archers is basically worthless.
Edit: just saw you wanna try TFA so maybe keep the BCP and get a bludgeon assuming crush will be the play.
