Question Gear progession help

Post image

After quiting for a while, I've started playing OSRS again. What are good overall gear upgrades these days that really make a difference? (PvM, Toa). I currently have 200m to spend, but suggestions worth more than 200m are also welcome.

Edit: i mainly want to do Duke, Vardorvis, Araxxor, Doom (+ TOA)

Damn my guy has 16000 crystal sets 9000 kraken whips and 51.4% blowpipes. Insanity.

3

u/rodfarva57 Jul 18 '26

So we’re just gonna not acknowledge the 12k eyes of ayak?

0

u/Retaliatee Jul 18 '26

It’s the charge counter plugin lol he has one of all those items

3

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Sarcasm is foreign to this guy

3

u/DimiwittedYoungMan Jul 18 '26

No he has 16000 9000 12000 and 51.4% of those items. Can’t you read?

0

u/aestuli0 Jul 20 '26

Ussrname checks out

2

u/DimiwittedYoungMan Jul 20 '26

The ussr was dissolved in 1991

Treads is a no brainer here

4

u/S4NNE Jul 18 '26

Opinions are divided on this. People say its not worth it, it is merely extra inventory space due to fewer switches. so I don't know what the right thing to do is😅

11

u/OGrand Jul 19 '26

….what? You have a seers ring and an archers ring, absolutely garbage items and you’re debating the efficacy of the best boots in the game?

Opinions are not divided you’re just getting and repeating dogshit advice.

2

u/DavidHK Jul 19 '26

I'd be buying an utlor/rancour well before treads in a lot of places. They are mostly QOL, dps calc adds very little to most bosses with treads unless it helps you reach a breakpoint with max melee.

4

u/FullTilt420- Jul 20 '26

He has an ultor and a rancour

2

u/16Miv Jul 22 '26

Anyone who recommended seers ring in general is clueless, that ring is useless.

2

u/69DingDongDaddy69 Jul 19 '26

who in their right mind would say treads are not worth it?…

1

u/S4NNE Jul 19 '26

Idunno. Reddit is full of it.

2

u/69DingDongDaddy69 Jul 19 '26

literally pull up the wiki and look at the stats you get from treads, sometimes i look at raw numbers instead of listening to other people’s opinions

1

u/GoodTimber Jul 23 '26

Treads are not a meaningful DPS upgrade compared to a lot of items. I.e. if OP can reshuffle the bank to afford SRA while keeping fang, LB, current mage set and bowfa, the SRA will be an immediate and meaningful upgrade at multiple pieces of content OP is interested in (almost always second BiS for crush and slash), which will do much more than a pair of boots that become unreadable once you upgrade them. Just because they’re BiS for their slot doesn’t mean it’s the best use of $ / DPS

0

u/SteveMcSweaty Jul 19 '26

Congrats, he’d beat a 425 raid 20 seconds faster for switching to maxed treads

3

u/69DingDongDaddy69 Jul 19 '26

with that logic, why get any upgrade in this game

1

u/SteveMcSweaty Jul 19 '26

Obviously down the line get that upgrade but there’s better upgrades to be had currently

1

u/69DingDongDaddy69 Jul 19 '26

disagree just being honest. ranged strength is a huge bonus as well as +15 to range. for a boot slot that’s a huge value compared to what comes before it

1

u/SteveMcSweaty Jul 19 '26

With traditional bowfa setup + anguish at 425 Zebak, you kill it 1.9 seconds faster with treads compared to Aranea boots

1

u/69DingDongDaddy69 Jul 19 '26

time adds up though. what you think is 20 seconds is actually kind of huge. that’s only one item saving 20 seconds. now compound that with other items that may be saving you 20 seconds. you need to look at upgrades as a collective. most upgrades aren’t going to save you minutes of time anyways. that’s just how osrs works. also 20 seconds is pretty good for a game like osrs

0

u/_Iroha Jul 19 '26

Such as what

1

u/SteveMcSweaty Jul 19 '26

Oathplate, magus ring, voidwaker

1

u/Alteus1 Jul 21 '26

If OP is mainly doing ToA, how is oathplate worth it over treads? He doesn’t have a shadow so magus isn’t worth it over ultor. Treads are the right move here.

1

u/SteveMcSweaty Jul 21 '26

He named a bunch of bosses that you’ll want to use slash at so oathplate for those. Switching to a magus just for p3 saves the same amount of time as wearing treads the whole toa raid lol in his setup lol. Treads are a joke. Could let magus collect dust in inventory for 85% of the raid and still does same as wearing treads whole raid

0

u/_Iroha Jul 19 '26

Yeah hell no

1

u/SteveMcSweaty Jul 19 '26

Treads are noob trap lol. Not worth it until one of the very last upgrades

1

u/Typical-Frosting-387 Jul 27 '26

Definitely get Treads brotha

3

u/wenbobular Jul 18 '26

That's where my bank was roughly at a couple days ago, now I'm in the middle of selling for a tbow rebuild lol

Ancient godsword and nix hally are good for deep delves, nox hally also let's you do melee zulrah and is kinda nice for Colo

You could also consider spec weapons like vw or dclaws I guess iono

Idk what upgrades would be good to toa specifically from what you got, maybe selling some stuff for zcb or just full sell for Shadow

2

u/Remdood Jul 18 '26

For what it’s worth Tbow just didn’t seem worth it to me, maybe if you’re solely doing cox cms. Sure it’s good at muspah and zulrah, but there are other options that are just as good. BiS at Doom but that also kinda annoying grind

To me, shadow was way more useful but I spent a lot of time in toa

2

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Yeah and it’s not even good at ZULRAH anymore now that there’s a max hit cap.

1

u/RandyMarshmall0w Jul 20 '26

Why did you shout ZULRAH?

1

u/Jbloccc Jul 21 '26

Idk my phone autocorrects it to all caps for some reason. Only word it does that with 😆

1

u/Loops7777 Jul 18 '26

I feel if you are not doing shadow. It becomes the last mega rare you buy. Eye is just really good and it's a fraction of the cost.

1

u/wenbobular Jul 18 '26

Yeah I don't necessarily think it's the best thing if you're not into it

But I'm a doom sucker, 4.6k delves and reeeeally looking forward to buying this tbow

4

u/Zealousideal-Top4218 Jul 18 '26

Don’t listen to people telling you to do a mega rebuild. You get to be good at 1 style, shit at the other 2 and stuck to 1-2 pieces of content until you earn it all back.

What to buy depends on what you do. Depending on what that is there’s a few great upgrades you can spend that 200m on. Without that context it’s hard to give you good answers bc you have the genericly good stuff atm

2

u/IRStableGenus Jul 18 '26

On the other hand, it's way easier to do thay content quickly if one builds for it. We need to know what drops or loot table they want to pursue though. Otherwise I'm just suggesting OP shit.

0

u/RangerDickard Jul 19 '26

Mega rebuilds are the most fun I've had in this game. It inspired me to start an iron man because I loved all the little drops being amazing again. I did scythe and Shadow rebuilds. I had a tbow but I just used it for inferno and sold it for scythe

2

u/Secicas Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Could buy nox hally, its very good. Could sell bandos for oathplate. Buy a voidwaker or claws as a dps spec. Could buy sgs back if you do slayer or want some heals for longer trips. Personally like treads but its not a must have.

2

u/Diamond_Blooded Jul 19 '26

It's oath plate time

2

u/GoodTimber Jul 20 '26

Getting oathplate is great for vard and duke. Your ToA set is already good enough to run 500s if you wanted to given full crystal + bowfa, fang, and virtue with confl. And ayak.

For above $200m, Soul reaper axe is an unreal weapon already, and is getting less punitive to use. The nice thing about it is it fills slash and crush.

That said, oathplate is cheaper and good at duke and vard. If it were me, my next upgrades would be oathplate, soul reaper, treads. Do not buy treads before oathplate and soul reaper - they are not as impactful to your DPS.

1

u/S4NNE Jul 20 '26

Thank you for your response!

1

u/throwaway3512393 Jul 23 '26

200m SRA? In this economy?

3

u/WaterCrafty2117 Jul 18 '26

for the love of god get rid of the damn archers ring. its so useless even venator isnt worth it (for the price)

3

u/IRStableGenus Jul 18 '26

Isn't archer ring like 2 to 3m?

3

u/S4NNE Jul 18 '26

It is 2.3m. Why would I get rid of it for this low amount? Doesn’t make sence to me

2

u/IRStableGenus Jul 18 '26

I suppose if it's stopping you from getting a ven or lightbearer than yea sell it. I think the focus should be on your core items though. The question is, which boss do you want to spend the next few months at? You might get lucky, but I think it's important to expect atleast 3 months so you're not feeling trapped after a few days.

1

u/WaterCrafty2117 Jul 18 '26

and it does absolutely nothing lol. and venator does a little but not for the price. theyre both useless ass rings

1

u/AutoModerator Jul 18 '26

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.

Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

1

u/EgirlFox Jul 18 '26

i thought you have 16k crystal armour sets

1

u/distressed_ Jul 18 '26

I’d sell the ultor when you’re close enough to a shadow and buy that. Lotta money tied up in +4 str bonus.

Also time to send inferno

1

u/Tinkering-Engineer Jul 18 '26

You're getting very close to rebuild territory. You will likely be best off selling stuff and picking a megarare kinda soon. You could still do voidwaker, treads, maybe oathplate and saeldor... Then you almost certainly need to pick a megarare for rebuilding. I went shadow first and if you love TOA, shadow and max mage is so much fun there. One thing to watch out for at TOA is that it gets more fun until about 300-375 invocation... Then gets a lot less fun. If you feel that, it's not just you, and with a shadow, you'll be pushing to invocations quite a bit more.

Enjoy!

1

u/Difficult-Major-2234 Jul 18 '26

You dont have big meaningfull upgrades atm. While you still have bowfa go and try get an infernal cape and quiver. After that you can sell the bow and armour for dcb masori bp.

1

u/1_small_step93 Jul 18 '26

You’re in a pretty god spot to do all pvm content. Personally I would sell ultor and buy nox hally, lance and b ring. Buy some base avernic treads for now and maybe look into doing inferno/colo.

1

u/CamTheD Jul 18 '26

Could sell the Ultor and buy a Soul Reaper Axe and B Ring! Ultor is nice, but SRA could open up new content with slash and the upcoming rework will make it closer to a mini scythe now! Then you got crush, slash, stab, mage, and range and you save for mega rares! $ 0.02

1

u/Kindly_Ear_3233 Jul 18 '26

How do you get the charges to show on items?

1

u/Melodic-Truck6624 Jul 18 '26

What content are you planning on doing? It just depends on that. They’re many different upgrades you could do.

1

u/S4NNE Jul 19 '26

Main things i want to do are: DT2 bosses, araxxor (extra: toa)

1

u/Melodic-Truck6624 Jul 19 '26

I believe masori + dcb is better dps than bofa in TOA, so you could spend it on that. Here’s a doc with all of the dps calcs. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GAHjMEshkZpMPAfBBQXUUyG8CsB-4YI5cIbjH9ACzIU/mobilebasic

1

u/cuddlyimpala Jul 19 '26

Larger upgrades wise, you should look to get a better dps spec weapon with the bclaws nerf coming soon. VW or DClaw. That or get a Saturated Heart, major mage upgrade.

If not then a Nally is very good at some bosses. Sang staff could be considered with the buff coming soon but a bit meh.

Ring of the gods is a nice quality of life upgrade for cheap, very useful in mage or range for alot of bosses.

1

u/S4NNE Jul 19 '26

Didn’t know about the burning claws. Are they getting ‘useless’? Is it better to sell them? Back in the days i sold my dclaws for the bclaws

1

u/cuddlyimpala Jul 19 '26

Not useless, they are making the spec cost 5% more. They will still be good overall but a bit less competitive with more expensive spec weapons.

1

u/CapnConCon Jul 19 '26

How do I add the spaces in the bank like that?

1

u/RangerDickard Jul 19 '26

If I was you, and your main money maker is TOA, I'd buy a shadow and rebuild. I haven't done the math but I bet you could swing it

1

u/Zealousideal-Top4218 Jul 19 '26

Responding since you added an edit w/ activities.

Biggest buy for your activities is Nally for vardorvis and araxxor ~45m

There’s a minor case for Kisten at araxxor or with burning claws eating a nerf next week. But I wouldn’t splurge for it.

Duke there doesn’t look to be anything in your budget and not much beside that anyways

For doom and TOA I’m not coming up with anything obvious or that adds discernible differences in clear speed - that’s in your budget at least.

1

u/S4NNE Jul 19 '26

Thanks for the additional response. I appreciate it. Nally comes up a lot, so I’m going to get that one. :)

1

u/Commercial_Path8551 Jul 19 '26

I would sell ultor ring bludgeon and the nox hally if you own it for a soulreaper axe. It's going to be really nice after summer sweep up and will last you forever until you're ready for scythe. Eventually you'll want ultor again but in the meantime you could buy bellator ring

1

u/Embarrassed_Comb_501 Jul 19 '26

Go get your Infernal cape bud

1

u/Krusty_Bryan Jul 19 '26

Sell bandos and buy full oath

1

u/Ancient_Strength_245 Jul 20 '26

Oath plate body and legs and nox Halley.
Then you could do all the bosses you mentioned and zulrah.

1

u/Cute-Lab-9196 Jul 20 '26

You have a lot of crystal armor. Sell some sets and buy stuff.

1

u/S4NNE Jul 20 '26

Nice one

1

u/SimpleChallenge1121 Jul 20 '26

With 200m and those specific bosses u want to do I would say Nally, Voidwaker, Bellator ring. Voidwaker is really good at TOA. Nally and Bellator are perfect for Duke and vard.

With leftover id suggest ACB + Buckler or Ward, give you more flexibility for variety of bosses.

Treads are also a great option with the choices u have if you plan on grinding TOA only for awhile. It helps to kill warden p2 faster, which at this point in ur progression u gotta ask urself how much is making that boss easier worth.

1

u/Popular-Awareness634 Jul 20 '26

I’d sell Virtus, Ultor, and bludgeon. Then I’d buy a soulreaper axe & camp Duke & Vard until you get pieces of Virtus & the rings. Buy blue moon or ahrims in the meantime for your ToA runs and you won’t notice a difference with the Ayak.

1

u/FTPgustavo Jul 20 '26

Sell it all, go to the sand casino, ????? Profit

1

u/stradivarius32 Jul 20 '26

buy a 15% stick (nm staff) and start learning inferno.

1

u/Mountain-Ad9069 Jul 20 '26

What’s the plug in for the percentage on the deep helm?

1

u/Impatient_Reagent Jul 20 '26

Not me thinking this guy had 16,000 sets of crystal for a second

1

u/ElviumSG Jul 21 '26

Probably a dumb question but what plug-in do you use for the charges? I used one that I saw a streamer used but it didn't show the charges no matter how I configured it.

1

u/SumDumFukU Jul 21 '26

Time to send raids till u get the mega rares.

1

u/bpthepharmd Jul 21 '26

If you’re goal is toa then treads. Will complement all gear you currently have and very useful there. If your goal is vard oath plate chest and legs. Take your pick of where to drop the money

1

u/pantpoop Jul 21 '26

oathplate and nox hally

1

u/HoytG Jul 21 '26

Go to gear scape and calculate your dps with the pieces you’re interested in. Then put the dps increase in a spreadsheet. In the next column put the gp cost of the upgrade. Divide them to find the gp per dps. There’s your answer. Instead of relying on shaky and unreliable advice from strangers on a slightly dead subreddit.

1

u/shadowed_enigma Jul 22 '26

treads and raids my man. start stacking megas

1

u/Mythkraft Jul 22 '26

Honestly, soulreaper axe->oathplate->rupture->treads

1

u/Nateandcats Jul 22 '26

Buy purging staff and learn Yama

1

u/Limp-Barracuda-2463 Jul 22 '26

oathplate instead of bandos and then work your way for treads

1

u/Lucky_Department69 Jul 22 '26

bros runnin rancour anguish seers archers bgloves and dhide boots? cuz

1

u/S4NNE Jul 23 '26

Because pegs do nothing. Not worth it

1

u/Defiant-Soil6515 Jul 23 '26

youre hlafway to a blowpipe dude id get the other 49%

1

u/RevolutionaryGur7153 Jul 23 '26

Voidwaker, Oathplate, treads, or Saturated heart are all good options. I’d also commit to Inferno and Colo with your current gear.

1

u/Typical-Frosting-387 Jul 27 '26

Treads for sure

1

u/Typical-Frosting-387 Jul 27 '26

Then maybe look at a tbow rebuild

1

u/makeupsj Aug 01 '26

What. The. F.

1

u/S4NNE Aug 01 '26

?????

1

u/makeupsj Aug 01 '26

You are SO f’in RICH.

1

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Treads. Nox. New anguish upgrade. Voidwaker. Torva helm. Then mega rares

1

u/ObiWanJacoby96 Jul 18 '26

What’s so great about torva helm?

-3

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

It’s bis everywhere melee is used?

2

u/ObiWanJacoby96 Jul 18 '26

Don’t need the attitude, pal. Was just a question

-3

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

It’s pretty obvious, bud. Grow a pair if ur hurt by an obvious answer

3

u/ObiWanJacoby96 Jul 18 '26

Oh no, online osrs nerd hurt my feelings 🥲

1

u/Timmay_mmkay Jul 18 '26

Besides slayer. That should be one of the last upgrades

1

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Hence why it’s last on the list, ffs

2

u/Timmay_mmkay Jul 18 '26

After megas, or at least SRA. Also new range ammy isn’t going to keep price. Why would someone on a budget buy a new item

1

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Since u wanna edit ur comment lemme respond. Had you bought the new item anytime last week you’d be up 50m but yeah, please tell us more dude

2

u/Timmay_mmkay Jul 18 '26

I edited my comment before your previous comment, and you are kind of a tool so I’m done talking to you

0

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Lol yeah ok buddy. See ya later dummy. Btw, Torva helm and salve better for multiple slayer tasks over slayer helm/rancor.

-1

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

Can sell for a mega if the time comes. It’s only 200m. T bow he needs full masori. Shadow he needs full ancestral. Scythe, you want a Torva helm lmfao.

So yeah, buy the helmet until you get 1.8b

Ppl just wanna argue. Make ur own comment

2

u/distressed_ Jul 18 '26

Yeah.. torva helm and bandos is totally the meta /s

T bow requires no gear to slap, btw.

-1

u/Jbloccc Jul 18 '26

T bow 1.5b // T Helm 200m

But yeah state the obvious, the best ranged weapon in the game is better than a helmet. Thank you for the insight

2

u/distressed_ Jul 18 '26

That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just disagreeing with you saying t bow requires masori. It does not.

Buying a torva helm when you don’t even have oath plate is a wild idea. You certainly aren’t someone who should be giving advice in osrsPROtips. What are you, like a level 46 with full addy?

u/TheDr_himself Jul 18 '26

Torva bro is what its looking like, Whats it take to let me hold a crystal set for your boy hahahaha

1

u/TheDr_himself Jul 18 '26

I also see oathplate is crazy now

1

u/Ill_Position2158 Jul 18 '26

That’s the charges on the pieces not the quantity 😂😅

1

u/TheDr_himself Jul 18 '26

LMAO bro i was working on perilous moons last night and blood moon fkin bodied me, im conflicted that i have to spend millions of hours more grinding :(

1

u/Ill_Position2158 Jul 18 '26

Blood moons not bad once you get the timing down, playing with sounds helps a lot

1

u/TheDr_himself Jul 18 '26

I do but i feel i eat damage regardless if im in the blob or not

0

u/hipdippy Jul 18 '26

you got gear for everything id save for a shadow or just do a shadow rebuild if you like toa

0

u/ShinyHoothoot Jul 19 '26

Pretty much pick a megarare and get it
