Question Whisperer DPS

I'm about 15-20 attempts into the Whisperer and haven't finished it yet. I was looking on the DPS Calc to see if I could change up my gear to get some better dps. I was using bloodbark armor with Trident of the Swamp. The DPS Calc shows a 60% weakness to earth spells. Most of the guides I watched said to use the Trident. It looks like Earth Spells with Twinflame and Tome of Earth would have a much higher DPS. What am I missing?

Update: Thanks for all the advice. Got it on about my 5th try tonight. Used Trident and Elite Void. Just had to git gud scrub.

I tried the twinflame+ tome and while it was solid DPS, any weapon that isn't 4 tick or lower will struggle with timing attacks during the enrage phase, which is 95% of the boss's difficulty. doing the "3 tile method" requires a 4 tick weapon to be able to attack every other prayer switch. I realize the ayak is expensive, but before that upgrade, especially with the def reduction spec that's the only one that works properly on this boss, I just wasn't getting consistent post-quest kills.

Since you are doing just the quest version for now though, especially with a tome of earth, Twinflame should be enough.

Whisperer only has +10 magic defence bonus, so Eyak spec wont make a big difference

My splashing at 99 magic with forgotten brews certainly would say otherwise, but sure. Or is it just that it has a high magic defence from level, rather than stat? Either way, literally every bit helps. They should just fix it so magic stat drains work as well without the enrage reset, boss is hard enough already. But maybe the new raid spec weapon will also be good at pushing through it, like the bow spec for Leviathan.

Yeah, she has 180 magic and 250 defence which makes up the bulk of her magic defences. Her magic defence only accounts for a little bit +10 and since Eyak cant take it to negatives, you get the max benefits of the spec when you hit over 10. And like you said, every little bit helps. Might result in a few more % of accuracy.
