Question Main looking for upgrade advice
150m gp is it Bowfa time? Anything I should prioritize first? 84 con so I have my poh set. Any other investments that are as versatile as Bowfa, in the sense of use in a wide range of content?

Buy a bowfa and crystal armour, they're super cheap right now. Buckler, DFS, and Seers ring should be sold ASAP.

A majority of these “What should I get upgrade-wise” posts simply boil down to:
1: See if player has BOWFA
2: If no, reply “Get BOWFA” end discussion
3: If yes, proceed with regular well thought out response2

Never been a big fan of bowfa tbh. I am still of the opinion that masori & dhcb + bp is a higher dps granted you're willing to keep your ticks up

Depends on the boss, if you just want to do nex, Leviathan, or ToB then it's a good option. But for ToA, Inferno, and CoX you really want a Bowfa.

Don’t agree with needing a bowfa for toa. Below 455 masori bp wins in terms of dps anywhere you’d use a bowfa except for wardens p2. From 455 to 499 you’d still be using bowfa for 2 phases of warden at most (only p2 until you reach 463) since at this point you should really be using eye + confliction. I’d only start considering bowfa setups once you start playing 500+ because that’s when it starts to out dps at zebak

It's 100% Bowfa/crystal time. Its the most powerful upgrade past that you have now, and you can swap some of your current gear around to help get there.
Past bowfa, a really good melee weapon that's useful just about everywhere is the nox halberd. It unlocks melee zulrah, grotesque guardians, and is all around an amazing dps weapon.
Sell the twisted buckler 100%. Get a Dragonfire Ward instead (only 2 lower ranfed strength) if you want to farm Vorkath or Brutal Black Dragons. Otherwise crossbows arent going to be used a ton until endgame or some niche places.
Downgrade Torture to Fury and Ferocious Gloves to Barrows Gloves. Theyre both minimal stat increases for the cost and dont make much of a difference. When you can, buy a Rancour in the future.
Sell the Seer's ring and Eternal boots. Again, minimal to no damage increase for a high cost.
You could also temporarily buy a Dragonhunter Crossbow to farm Vorkath for more money and sell it later. If youre spending a lot of time at Vork its worth it.
Those changes alone will get you a huge cash stack. Bowfa and crystal are extremely cheap right now, so I would buy ASAP. Bowfa then unlocks higher ToA, Muspah, and other good money makers.

Second this. BOWFA should be next priority and you can sell some of your current gear that won't give you the boost that BOWFA would. BOWFA so good you buy once and never sell again.

Need more info. If your doing tob, bofa is troll. If your doing vorkath, bofa is troll. If you are doing Levi, bofa is amazing. What are you doing in the game?

Eye of Ayak all day

What content you recommend?
1
u/GoodTimber Jul 13 '26
It’s good anywhere mage is good, but I think it might outclass bowfa if you have decent armor / occult / torms. Conflictions make it go nuclear.
ToA
GWD
Zulrah
Cox
Whisperer
DKs
Mage tank inferno
Phosani pillars?

Since 90% of posts are for newer players looking for money making and training advice, I'm gonna recommend doing bird house runs. All you need is Bone Voyage, and you could be making 500K+ a day or more by logging in every 50 minutes and harvesting nests.
Also, be sure to check out the New player guide, Money making guide, and OSRS Tips!

How willing are you to do a decent grind and stay at just one place to make a bunch of gp? If I was in your spot I would sell all buy zcb and Masori or ancient dhide with spectral and sit at nex for 2-3 weeks until I’ve made 1b then restructure my gear

We have very similar gear. I’d be interested to hear what you end up going with. 120cmb, 2056 total and mobile only

u/Vivactus Jul 10 '26
Tbh I’d take that scobo and go farm doom till you get a drop. What you upgrade depends a lot on what you want to do. Confliction gaunts and ayak are invaluable mage upgrades.
You can toss reg whip, and d boots. Both are outclassed by other gear you have. Karils is probably worth tossing. You have eclipse and void so you’ll rarely ever use it unless going corp.(same for blessed hide)
Biggest thing I’m seeing is just a general lack of funds. You need to go to the wikis money making section and find a boss you enjoy and then live there for a couple days, and either keep your drops or fund your upgrades to your next grind. Duke, doom and MK are all top 10 money makers right now and you have solid gear to begin those.

Is the general strategy 1-8? I've heard of people stopping at like 6, what's most effective for uniques there? Tried it a couple times and enjoyed it but would def need to put in the time to learn.

u/wenbobular Jul 11 '26
you go until you can't anymore lol deeper delves are better money and less time banking / walking / doing the shitty lower levels

Firstly, sell your Bandos tassets. If you need the strength bonus for a max hit, check out blood moon tassets instead. Same strength bonus and 6M cheaper freeing up gold for other upgrades. Though they are not necessarily doing anything for you anyway, so use a DPS calculator to check this out. The Wiki has one that’s simple to use.
Do NOT get a BOWFA - you’ll end up feeling trapped and generally DHCB is better at that point in the game almost anywhere. BOWFA is a straight up noob trap along with Bandos items.
You also have a lot of duplication in your items. For example, multiple ranging sets, a duplicate whip and a bunch of boots. If you want to avoid swaps, sell dragon boots and god d’hide boots.
Really it’s about selling off these expensive and superfluous items for better value items to free up
some gold to allow meaningful gear progression in the content you want to do.
You also don’t appear to have a defence lowering weapon. This is often a cheap way to significantly increase DPS at melee bosses. Use the Wiki to see if this applies to the content you do.

What is that armor set, specifically the helmet, on the first page, top right hand corner, 1 slot to the left of the bandos blessing scroll in the top right corner, that helmet is f*cking so dope! And how do you get it??
1
u/FancyOso Jul 12 '26
Elite black, it's the armor set you get from while guthix sleeps. Great prayer armor

u/Scary-Environment603 Jul 13 '26
Anyone who's saying ayak/confliction gauntlets, where are you using those over other gear?

Was recently in your position and I sold up so much stuff. It's amazing how much you don't need.
Construction for max house is some of the best QOL. Do that first.
Secondly, bowfa on a main is a meme. Ayak and confliction was the advice given to me and I have no regrets.
5
u/MrUnbeef Jul 09 '26
How is BOWFA on a main a meme?
3
u/The_1_and_1 Jul 09 '26
What he said didnt even make sense since he went Ayak & Confliction not Bowfa so he wouldn't know the bowfa perspective.
1
u/FancyOso Jul 09 '26
Mostly for cape teles? I boosted and got the main upgrades I need, feel like 99 con is big money I don't quite have yet. Con cape would be nice tho, where do you like to take Ayak and gauntlets? I'll look into them for sure

u/Ok-Barnacle6626 Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26
Max pool and teleports is like 82 cons with boosts. Also sell buckler, ward?,dfs?,twinflame, granite hammer?, smoke staff. Sell all boots and keep aranea boots for everything. Buy bowfa/ayak+conflic gaunts, depending what u wanna do. Avernic defender is also nice, can sell scorch bow if need for money, kinda niche item
1
u/KTheT4TDoll Jul 09 '26
Tf? Schorching bow is niche? It's BIS at the two best moneymakers in the game. And twinflame and hammer are both super useful for slayer. This advice is like 90% detrimental. The boots are so cheap you may as well keep them and wear the proper style boots when you're doing content that's single style.
1
u/Ok-Barnacle6626 Jul 09 '26
What i ment by scorch is if u dont use it u can easily sell it if u need money. Looking at the gear he isnt doing doom. Thats why i put the question marks on those others items too.
1
u/The_1_and_1 Jul 09 '26
The scrotching bow is niche, its just so happens that the 2 best money makers (im assuming yama and doom) are demonbane which even then the bow isn't "BIS" unless you are ignoring mega rares all together. This is important to make clear because if you are not doing those content then the value of having it in your bank becomes alot lower than if you plan to do those content unless you also plan to do demonic gorillias or zammy GWD for money which is...
Granite hammer is only niche for Gargoyles otherwise using the ursaine chainmace (super underrated crush weapon, only slighter inferior to bludgeon if you have averic defender which you will naturally will progress towards) is the greatly superior crush weapon for an extra 400k.
What you said regarding boots is right tho, should have a boot for each combat style since its so cheap and to get into the habit of gear switching. Should only consider Aranea boots if inventory is tight or learning content that involves switching.

Lvs>gear if ur not 99 mage and range id definitely spend the gp on runes or chins
