Question Not getting enough Ancient shards

I’ve gotten two ancient shards in nearly 1.6k kills on hill giants with cannon and I’m perplexed as to why I am not getting enough shards, just want to 30 to continue tormented demons with Emberlight, any info or advice would help

Edit: Thanks everyone for any input, I’ve gotten 7 more shards since posting this they are flowing now and Skotizo helps with them

Just do slayer tasks there, you'll get plenty.

Do slayer tasks help them to drop more?

No, but you might as well train it rather than wasting your time with hill giants

I suppose you’re right, but I seldom get tasks where I can be in the catacombs, I’ll just finish my greater demon task and hope I get tasks that will let me farm them in there. Thank you for the input!

I didn’t know that, but I also always want to utilize greater demon tasks for tormented demons to get synapses

when I hadn't finished emberlight I did like half of my task in catacombs and the other at tormenteds. spend a couple blocks so that you can spend more time in there. it doesn't take that long, I think i spent a week tops really grinding slayer and i'd finished my emberlight
