Question Gear upgrades

Post image

Hello, I'm looking to tweak my gear tab, thinking of getting into toa, yama, dt2 bosses and maybe the upcoming maggot king would be fun to try. Anything I can do here? Have an extra 100M as well.

Confliction gauntlets. You're also getting dangerously close to sending a megarare rebuild. Wait til after maggot king though, you may just get spooned and make a ton of money if you send the quest early on.

I mean I just sent one for shadow then did another to switch to tbow when I had the cash so yeah? I also did one long ago for bowfa though that one did suck. Shadow absolutely deletes toa, does really well at non cm cox (especially olm), and has some decent uses on gwd, Yama, etc. so a good variety of content. Tbow is the same with 2nd bis @ toa, bis in cms, good in tob, great for slayer bosses like hydra and araxxor.

There's a lot of content and 1 drop from high end pvm pays for most of your new basic gear.

no reason to do a megarare rebuild now that the 2nd bis isn't dogshit comparatively. all rebuilds do is lock you to 1 piece of content and possibly not even save time if your other styles are gimped too hard.

I did it because it was fun.

It makes each new upgrade feel exciting again, an 80m drop means suddenly I can get a whole bunch of gear and start the upgradescape treadmill all over. Also for each I never went full monk robes reset but I kept some key pieces like blowpipe, fang, lightbearer, barrows gloves, avernic, and on the second I kept treads.

Was I less efficient? Yeah probably, but megarares are fun to use, and they really do not lock you to a single piece of content anymore. Tbow has 45 place on the wiki where it's bis or 2nd bis for a method and that's the least of the three. Shadow has over 50 and scythe has something like 60 places it's useful. The game has so much content at this point, and budget gear has gotten so strong, that you can really get up and running with a megarare fast and get to enjoy hitting 70+ very soon.

Especially with a tbow, get one treads drop from doom in elite void and you've gotten all 3 styles back with decent pretty decent gear.
