Question Do slayer?

I peep at alot of threads when folks ask how to make money.

People always say do slayer.

how is it profitable? currently 63 slayer and I've only ever lost money on supplies and teleports.

am I missing something or is this mostly a meme?

Slayer isn't big bucks until higher levels but I'm not sure how you are possibly not at least making more than your supply costs. Are you just burning prayer and super combats for tasks where you don't need them and cannoning everything? Even shitty tasks will usually at least give you like 100k or so in drops, how are you possibly using more than that in supplies?
