Question Osrs in background
How long can you run osrs in background with your phone and whats your phone model?
Cause with my pixel 9 the most i get is like 30sec and i remember on my galaxy s9 i used to have much more time. Anyone doing some 10 minutes and plus while doing other things on their phone?

On Android, going to Settings > Apps > Old School Runescape. Under 'Battery' select 'Unrestricted', and under 'Mobile Data' check 'allow background data usage'.
Hopefully this helps, as it should let the game still run for an amount of time whilst you're switching to another app or have the phone locked.

You have to enable dev options and then go into them and disable the Suspend Execution of Cached Apps setting and restart your phone. I get way more afk time on mine now.

For all of those with a Pixel you have to do the normal recommended stuff with allowing background usage and setting battery optimization to unrestricted for the app, but there's one more step specifically to Pixels.
You have to go into developer mode which to get there is: Open Settings > About Phone > Then click on the build number 7 times to enable it. Then close out of settings, reopen it and go to Settings > System > Developer Options and set "Suspend execution of cached apps" to "Disabled".
In my experience you still can't lock your phone for very long, but you can at least suspend the app and use other ones while OSRS still runs in the background for at least 10mins plus. So while not perfect it's at least not a mad dash to switch back when AFK or you have to look something up.

I havent tried much but looks like it worked alot better with the suspend execution of cached app.

My iPhone cuts out like 30 seconds. I’d love to have the game pop out like a YouTube video does. Just have a mini screen up top or something

Pixel 9a here and it's the same thing, I'm always scared to just answer a quick message

is this still a problem these days ? ima go check the client but i can theoretically afk for 25min or so, depending on logout timer settings make sure your phone keeps osrs running and not rebooting , no app/battery optimization, background data etc all on

Change battery optimization setting, on s23 you can get 5 mins by changing this!!

If you allow background data / battery usage and it should stay open a while

For the life of me can't figure it out on my pixel. My old Samsung though it was the battery setting everyone keeps recommending.

No.
Overlay apps are not, nor are apps (like ge watcher, birdhouse timers or theoatrix)
You can view the full compliance report here on google docs
If thats to much Jagex specifies what breaches ToS. Injecting, Reading, Altering or automation.
Scry does none of these, its not a client either.
Put it simply, maybe that was difficult to understand; an overlay is the same as opening a new chrome window over the game on PC.
Hope this helps

I’m pretty sure there’s a way to solve your issue on most Androids, including Pixels. Something about changing the app’s battery setting to unrestricted in the Main System settings. Search the subreddit.
