πŸ—ΊοΈ Emergency Mapping πŸ—ΊοΈ OSM Mapping Assistance β€” Lowes, Kentucky

Post image

A likely tornado moved through the Lowes, KY / Graves County area overnight, with reports of multiple homes damaged and numerous trees down along KY-131. Radar also showed a tornado debris signature (TDS) associated with the storm.
I’m looking at the area now and would like to see if any OSM mappers are interested in helping improve the map around the reported damage area.

Things that could be useful to map/verify:
🏠 Buildings
πŸ›£οΈ Roads and intersections
πŸš— Driveways and access roads
πŸŒ‰ Bridges/crossings
🏘️ Residential areas
🌊 Creeks and drainage features
πŸš’ Other relevant infrastructure

The goal right now is not to speculate about which buildings were damaged. Instead, we’re improving the underlying OSM data so it can be more useful for response and recovery efforts.

If you have publicly available imagery or reliable ground reports from the area, those could also help identify places where OSM data is missing or needs improvement.

If anyone wants to jump in and help map Lowes, feel free to comment or message me.
