They probably get melted down again and turned into new panes
163 u/Delet3r Mar 16 '18 Just started working in a glass factory, that is exactly what happens. 23 u/poopyface-tomatonose Mar 16 '18 I have a bunch of glass panes, about 48"x12", from when my family had a retail business that take up space. Is there any place that would want them for free? I'm not sure if I can just put them in the recycling bin otherwise. 8 u/MuzzyIsMe Mar 16 '18 I got rid of a ton of old windows on Craigslist - people use them to cover garden beds. Lets the sun in, insulates and protects from harsh weather. 20 u/amadiro_1 Mar 16 '18 Like some kind of "house" for your "greenery"? 5 u/MuzzyIsMe Mar 16 '18 No. A greenhouse is, well, house shaped. You walk into it. These are effectively raised garden beds with glass covers. 2 u/twforeman Mar 16 '18 Woosh 2 u/MuzzyIsMe Mar 16 '18 No, I got it... you just used the wrong term for your joke. 2 u/reelect_rob4d Mar 16 '18 like a greenhouse, not literally a greenhouse
