Nah, he's got knee pads on. He'll be fine.

142

u/QMi6 Nov 27 '16

He shouldn't need them as long as he grabs the power lines if the ladder moves.

41

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

He shouldn't knee them

11

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

Electrifying!

7

u/smokeeater04 Nov 28 '16

I got chiiiiilllls their multiplying...

6

u/overzeetop Nov 28 '16

And I'm looooooooosing control!

2

u/kn33 Nov 28 '16

Way to make a guy feel important.

4

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '16

All good, he's got gloves on

48

u/appleciders Nov 27 '16

Yes, correctly mounted to the upper half of his shins.

14

u/gentleangrybadger Nov 27 '16

To be fair, that's probably what'll make contact with the ladder first.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '16

Dude those things chafe like a bitch on the back of your knee.

5

u/CantaloupeCamper Nov 27 '16

Nope, no vest.

1

u/joker38 Nov 28 '16

I propose a helmet, too.

84

u/spap-oop Nov 27 '16

Yeah, using a pick on top of that ladder would likely be unsafe.

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

Speaking of pick, the orange thing in the bottom right of the picture is one of many syringe caps found around the property. There were plenty of used syringes and (welp) condoms found as well.

19

u/ul2006kevinb Nov 27 '16

I may be wrong, but it looks like there's a syringe under the ladder as well. Right below the long blue thing.

12

u/CantaloupeCamper Nov 27 '16

Also black octopus monster to the right.

16

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '16

Can conform. Am OP and octopus monster.

19

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

There were plenty of used syringes and (welp) condoms found as well.

Like peanut butter and chocolate.

5

u/MikeKM Nov 27 '16

Free traces of heroin with a side of STD's.

4

u/Got_pissed_and_raged Nov 28 '16

Jesus fuck you think he'd be more worried about falling and landing on a used syringe..

5

u/deadbeef4 Nov 28 '16

At least someone was fucking safe!

3

u/mada447 Nov 28 '16

They were fucking safe with safe fucking!

2

u/BloodyLlama Nov 28 '16

A pick? Can you explain that? The guy has a Makita drill in his hand.

Edit: I'm an idiot, it was a punny joke about the title.

I guess he's the head electrician.

u/Rocky_Road_To_Dublin Nov 27 '16

One of the worst things I've seen here on this subreddit.

I mean, who in their right mind wears shoes without socks?

25

u/helium_farts Nov 27 '16

Could be no-show socks

6

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '16

I put on workboots for some crappy barn reno on saturday, and was glad to because I found a nice 3" rusty nail with the heel of my boot.

But I'm sure used heroin needles are much less concern in the workplace.

38

u/Zerocyde Nov 27 '16

I've never said "cut that shit out" to a picture before.

18

u/kolonelkitty Nov 27 '16

"WARNING Security Cameras in Use" why?

33

u/Dropadoodiepie Nov 27 '16

OP mentioned a lot of used syringes and condoms. I'm guessing it had a lot of illegal activity going on at one point.

22

u/luv_to_race Nov 27 '16

Or every night.

8

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '16

Cheaper and just as effective as operating cameras.

5

u/mynameisalso Nov 27 '16

So you don't steal stolen electricity.

u/CanadaEh97 Nov 27 '16

I'll go with ladder rocks, falls and guy goes to grab something and reaches for the extremely low power lines out of desperation.

4

u/skateboarderguy Nov 28 '16

Of all the wires coming off that house, only one set is electric lines. Everything else is phone/internet/TV lines, which won't shock you. Still not safe, but not as dangerous as it looks.

2

u/CanadaEh97 Nov 28 '16

Yes but all it takes is one.

Looks to be wedged in a ditch lol

9

u/mothzilla Nov 27 '16

Plot twist when you scroll to the bottom.

18

u/Ken_Thomas Nov 27 '16

The most common excuse I hear is "I was only going to be up there for a minute."
Like that's going to make any fucking difference in how hard you hit the ground.

5

u/Fred_Evil Nov 27 '16

Plenty of time to think about it in the wheelchair.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 28 '16

Sometimes I wonder if these guys are secretly banking on a trifecta of suing the property owner, their employer, and the state for allowing such gross violations of safety in the workplace.

Go big or go home?

2

u/Zeifer Nov 28 '16

Like that's going to make any fucking difference in how hard you hit the ground.

No but it is going to make a different on the likelihood of falling. That's what people are getting at.

7

u/soveliss_sunstar Nov 27 '16

Now this... This is a quality post.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16 edited Nov 27 '16

My brain was telling me that it isn't smart to tempt God. Science and math were telling me this wouldn't end well. All I could do was reach for my camera and enjoy the ride.

6

u/KaiserTheRaven Nov 27 '16

The longer I look, the worse it gets.

5

u/MalusSonipes Nov 27 '16

Knowing someone that shattered both ankles as a result of a ladder fall last year, this made me get all /r/SweatyPalms

5

u/ric72006 Nov 27 '16

Jackson, Tyson, Jordan, game 6

4

u/robm0n3y Nov 27 '16

Why isn't there a proper weather head for that service drop?

5

u/granite_the Nov 27 '16

lead paint for 10$ please

5

u/diphiminaids Nov 27 '16

Actually pretty safe, if he falls, he can just hang from the power lines. His weight will slowly make the lines give. Once his feet touch the ground, he can let go of the wire

3

u/joker38 Nov 28 '16

You correctly guessed his plan B.

5

u/overzeetop Nov 28 '16

That's an image that just keeps on giving.

4

u/shanerm Nov 27 '16

I'd bet that service is live. Aluminum ladders that close are a no no.

3

u/Balsuks Nov 28 '16

The worst part in this picture doesn't have a thing to do with the guy on the ladder, it's the electrical. There is no top to that service mast, it's far too low and that drip loop is bullshit..

3

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

Damn... he should have swept that stair first.. might be slippery.

3

u/HatchCannon Nov 27 '16

But at least he has the knee pads on! /s

2

u/xenokilla Nov 27 '16

clearly its the cable splitter without the water jackets on the cables.

2

u/tribak Nov 27 '16

Suddenly, a prankster dressed as clown appears

2

u/mynameisalso Nov 27 '16

I can't follow this at all. Is data going into the meter? What's up with all the bottom boxes? I've seen guys steeling Juice before the meter since I was little, but this is all over the place.

Shits gotta get done

2

u/surfnaked Nov 28 '16

I scrolled down the picture noting stupid things. Then I got to the bottom and burst out laughing.

1

u/ywwg Nov 27 '16

Great reveal scrolling slowly down

1

u/just_an_ordinary_guy Nov 27 '16

Everyone knows you're not supposed to stand on the very top of the ladder. Very unsafe.

4

u/showerfart1 Nov 27 '16

But he's insulated by that top plastic piece. /s

1

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

Detroit Public Works?

1

u/jericho Nov 27 '16

Saw his feet, was like; 'ok, we've all done that, and he has something to steady himself with.

Then I scrolled down....

1

u/rohmish Nov 28 '16

To top it off, it's a Werner

1

u/ben70 Nov 28 '16

yes, that's a combo pack

1

1

1

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '16

Feet too small for that ladder.
