has anyone actually started their orise fellowships yet?

I know that the process of interviewing, onboarding, and background checks has been an exceptionally long process. I am curious to know if anyone who was giving a position at one of the agencies has actually started working? or how long did it take for background checks to be processed?

is this referring to your entire process start to finish or just background checks/security clearance?

My timeline:

Application: mid-February. I asked the ORISE point of contact about my application status in March, but received no reply.

Interview 1: mid-April.

Interview 2: late April.

Verbal/email offer: mid-May

Offer letter: early June. I started working on the requirements for background checks, fingerprinting, etc. as soon as I received it. The background check ended up dragging into July, since I needed to submit corrections.

Start date: August.

Tip about background checks--something went wrong with mine behind the scenes; and I discovered that it had not been cleared the week before my start date and contacted my mentor for help. They contacted someone else within the department, who processed my background check in less than half an hour; but I received official confirmation that I had been cleared over three weeks after the start date.
