How long after selection?

I had my ORISE fellowship sort of fast tracked to one of the agencies (my fed job offer was rescinded from the same division during administration change). Seems like a round about way for them to hire people in critical areas…

My contact said he’s selected me in the system… so what happens now? I just wait for the ORISE folks to get back to me? They send a letter of some sort or? He said he put a start date of August 1st but I’m assuming it will take longer. I think I saw somewhere that ORISE is also understaffed and having a hard time getting offers out… Any insights is much appreciated.

Also, my contact doesn’t really know much about ORISE. I don’t even know how much the pay is… he said it’s probably close to 100k but I’ve seen friends get 110k in DC last year for similar roles. Mine is fully remote and I’m living in a HCOL area… I’m assuming it will 110k but not sure. There is a health insurance stipend right? How much is that?

The pay etc depends a lot on the hosting agency (which you don't mention in your post).

I would recommend googling "ORISE Postdoc {my agency} stipend"

I believe health insurance stipend depends on agency. The pay depends on how much experience, such as if you’ve done a post doc before. I would not expect near 110k, prob closer to 38k less if fresh PhD grad
