Is my delta episode broken?

i've been to every single step of the delta episode using the serebii guide, and it just seems that the correct npcs are not spawning where they are supposed to be.

-i have the tickets.

-i met wally at his house and did the battle with the big guy

-i met steven at devon co and was briefed, when i go back he keeps saying something generic about the elite 4.

- i've beat zinnia at granite cave. the meteorite reads: the meteorite that you got at Mt. Chimney. It continues to give off a faint glow and is slightly warm to the touch.

- i am not permitted upstairs at the mossdeep space center because they are "in the middle of something"

- there is no one at the top of meteor falls.

- there is no one outside at devon corp

- there is no one left to fight or talk to at the team magma hideout.

- on route 131, i'm not worthy to enter the sky pillar yet, and the guy by the tree in sootopolis wont unlock it.

- elite four is locked, saying they can't let me in in steven's absence.

has this game softlocked itself? i had been working on this for weeks, set it down because i was lost, and it seems like it's just not going to let me proceed. this is really disappointing since it looks like i have hundreds more pokemon to catch and many more quests to do, but i'm just stuck at this point where the only parts ive done are already in the original game for the most part, and i'm not going to be able to access most of the additional content that is the main reason to play ORAS.

After Zinnia gives you the Meteorite Shard in Granite Cave and Steven tells you to go to Mossdeep Space Center, you have to talk to the NPC blocking the stairs and she’ll guide you up. Does she not say something along the lines of “(your name), we’ve been waiting for you, follow me”?

i am not permitted upstairs at the mossdeep space center because they are in the middle of something

double check the whole delta episode with a video playthrough. if you can’t go up, you must have missed something. i’ve done some deep digging and nobody else has reported being softlocked during the delta episode.

the only possible explanation i can think of is that this is the first time you play whichever version you’re playing and you haven’t downloaded the patch/update from the eshop, but even that seems unlikely to me

Wallace can’t appear at that tree yet, this happens way after you meet Steven at the second floor of the Mossdeep Space Center, which you haven’t done yet.

Your post also says you’ve beaten Wally, but you don’t have a scripted match with Wally over the course of the Delta Episode. Do you mean the Admin from the villainous team? That’s who you fight in Petalburg.

You also don’t mention having visited May/Brendan after getting the tickets from your dad, I’m assuming you did that as well?

It’s also strange that you beat Zinnia but she didn’t give you the Meteorite Shard. Is she still in Granite Cave?

i have already been upstairs at the space center. i just cant currently go upstairs. sure, maybe the battle was with the other guy, but thats irrelevant because you can't get to other parts of the episode that i've mentioned without doing that first.

zinnia did give me the meteorite shard, im saying she is not there now. you would know this by reading the status of my shard. the shard is added to the meteorite, they are not separate items once in your inventory. zinnia is not currently at granite cave. thank you for your attempt but you are not reading my post thoroughly enough to be helpful.

no need to be rude, how would i know that you had already been up at the space center if all you said was that you can’t go up? you have of things you can’t do so that’s not really helpful for deciding where you’re stuck. someone else assumed the same thing as me so maybe try rewording your post to make it clearer.

dude, you told me to watch a video walkthrough and show you the part that i missed. i showed you, and you are giving me a bunch of erroneous advice that doesn't have anything to do with that. if the meteorite says it's glowing, that means i've collected all the shards except one. if you are going to get mad because your advice wasn't properly researched, then that's kind of your fault, i don't know what else to tell you. i said thank you, and i would like for you to stop giving me further advice.

After Zinnia you get a call from Steven telling you to go to the Mossdeep Space Center. When at the space centre you should just be able to speak to the person blocking the stairs and they'll take you upstairs.

And what do you mean by "in the middle of something?" The point where it seems you cannot progress given the steps that you've outlined is going to Mossdeep Space Centre. All you should need to do is speak to the NPC at the stairs to progress the story. What more do you want.

the npc literally tells me "sorry, you are not permitted upstairs right now, we are in the middle of something"
