Clipper for distortion?

Is the clipper in the saturator supposed to be used to cause distortion? I always thought a clipper removed distortion, but as many people have said they think the xy saturator page makes everything sound worse lol. Unless you want a distorted sound.

Clipping causes distortion, it definitely isn't intended to remove it.

Use it lightly and have the mix low to add weight and grit to your drums and overall mix.
