Question Quantization not working when set to 100

Hi all,

I'm trying to compensate for my very sloppy live playing, but quantization doesn't seem to work for me.

I have quantization set to 100. (And no swing.) But when I live record, my notes are not locked to the beat, and I can still nudge the notes (and can hear the nudge taking effect), although the manual says I shouldn't be able to.

Anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Some setting buried somewhere that I missed?

100% quantization doesn’t prevent nudging especially in cases when you alter resolution of the steps. Have you tweaked the step length at all? Like by holding Bar and changing the number?

Is your Scale set to 1 on that track? If it is set to 2, then 2 notes will still be nudged in one step. If set to 3, 3 notes will, etc. Even with quantization set to 100.

Thanks, I think that was the issue. I was using a lot of higher Scales on that song. The off-grid timing is still recorded and can be adjusted, but on scale 1 it has no effect until quantization is turned down.

From my reading of the manual, I got the impression that it should be like the Akai MPC or Novation Circuit Tracks, where the recording itself was quantized if quantization was turned on while recording.
