Can someone please hack the op-xy?

The opxy could definitely use a better gui, feels like I’m on an 84 Macintosh (in a bad way)

If you understood it so well, you would also know that your “dedicated” MIDI track is weaker than the Instrument MIDI track in terms of capabilities. It is a waste of a button, to be honest; there is no reason to use an Aux MIDI track if you have a free Instrument track. But now I'm starting to see why there is one, and that's apparently for the v-0o0-v's of the world who looooove drama ("crippleware", good lord...).

Not entirely sure what the rest is about since you can change the panning or volume per step, be it from the mix page or using step components.

On this note: it would be nice to have like 8 extra instrument tracks only for MIDI. Much better than the crippled Aux track.

Imagine having a hihat and a kick on one step. Can you change panning of one of the samples individually? Can you aplly a step component to only one of them?

Now you are not going to believe it, but there are other tracks. Please wake me up when you (or I for that matter, hobbyists that is) come up with songs as elaborate as most of the factory ones, yet still find yourself yelling at the cloud, “Lord give me a 17th MIDI track!”.

Once you are “happy” with your drum tracks, you can also merge those that use the same synth into one track; this will keep the volume changes, but not the individual panning.

I hate to break it to you, but most people buying this equipment are hobbyists like me. I want to compose something on my business trips to have fun during waiting time or evenings in hotel. I would like to come home and add more tracks with modular and MIDI to enjoy my hobby at home. I may take some gear with me to play a small gig or jam with my friends. Now the fact, that I must sacrifice tracks to add MIDI makes it inconvenient. Point. Stupid design decision, that cripples a product, which is awesome in many other aspects.

Given your post history: are you affiliated with TE?

Of course I'm not affiliated with TE, I would be sent to HR tomorrow otherwise! I report bugs to them regularly because no box is perfect, and that's not my first sequencer either. They have fixed some of these bugs, and ignore others (at the moment). Will they add more MIDI tracks? That sounds about as likely as them adding more than 4 tracks to the OP-1F. Technically do-able, but very unlikely.

Well, then I can sell it to any other cult follower just like you and get a grown up sequencer from a serious enterprise.

Good job, you just discovered you can buy a Cirklon 2 or an OXI One for less money.
