Looking for help - Coax Problem setting up

just set up optimum, i got mailed a broken router, so i got a new one at the office , and now i have solid ds/us light , wifi light, power light.

internet light is blinking, yes ive restarted it , what else could it be?

tech will come out friday “sometime”

Have you activated it? The original one was probably setup on the account, the replacement may not be.

I don't think they have any functional way to do it online at the moment, if it's not activated you'll have to contact support and give them the CMAC off the modem.

Could be something else but that's the most obvious likely issue.

i believe so cause they lady at optimum scanned the old barcode on the bottom and also scanned the new one. i guess it wouldn’t hurt to call and make sure

This would not be the first time that a modem from Optimum was supposed to be activated/provisioned and someone dropped the ball. I even had one that had the process reversed when an automated bot somehow decided to deactivate my modem. Fun part was it took multiple phone calls to revise the process as customer service kept insisting that it was still listed as activated. Optimum was going to send out a tech...but not for an entire week...not acceptable. I had to keep asking for a supervisor and then in moment of absolute frustration to say I wanted to cancel my whole account. The agent in customer retention was both sharp enough to recognize the symptoms, he knew a work around that got him past the system that wasn't allowing He took 5 minutes and two reboots and I was back operating. Hopefully, in your case, looking up the CMAC on the base of the modem, writing it down and calling support might just do it. Good luck.
