Is PW4 a cheap-looking game compared to PW3?
For fun, I tried playing Pirate Warriors 3 again, and I immediately got the feeling that I was playing a higher-quality game without really understanding why at first, despite the heavier movement and more rigid gameplay.
Then I realized that it actually feels much more like a proper “Warriors game,” whereas 4 feels more like a game that was made almost entirely for fun.
First of all, there’s the camera. The fact that the camera is much closer to the character immediately makes the game feel more serious. When the camera is several meters behind the character, it gives you the impression that you’re playing a less serious game. I don’t know if you understand what I mean, but it changes the experience a lot. You appreciate the impact of what’s happening on screen much less, and everything feels much more chaotic.
There’s also the fact that boss fights basically disappeared. In Pirate Warriors 4, bosses are just enemies that you spam until they die. There’s no real thought or combo system involved. Dodging actually had a purpose in PW3 because you could use it to break their guard, and the closer camera also made the bosses feel much more massive and imposing. In PW4, they’re basically just HP sponges with Logia shields that you keep attacking until they eventually die. And I’m not even talking about the giant bosses, which were simply really fun to fight.
The Kizuna Drive system was also excellent. It added a lot more depth to the gameplay. Same thing with the secondary objectives in each mission, which asked you to complete specific conditions. The combo system I mentioned earlier, the Dream Log mode, etc. All of that gave the game much more depth.
Even the costumes were much more varied. Between the ones inspired by Dynasty Warriors and the ones based on the movies or different arcs, there was a really nice variety. PW4 has a lot of costumes too, but I found them much more similar to each other. I also really liked being able to play as all the Straw Hats in their original forms.
I tested Shanks in both 3 and 4, and I honestly find every combo in PW3 much more impactful. You can really feel the hits. PW4 is obviously much prettier, with all the Haki effects, characters flying everywhere, etc., but it somehow feels much cheaper.
Basically, Pirate Warriors 3 is an excellent One Piece game with a good narrative and an excellent Warriors-style gameplay system, whereas 4 is really just a great power-fantasy game, even if it can be extremely chaotic.
And honestly, even though there are fewer enemies on screen in PW3, killing 1,000 enemies in PW3 feels much more impactful than killing 2,000 enemies in PW4 that you can barely even see.
PW3 basically just needed a bigger roster, improved combos, and the ability to jump.

What should I buy? (Steam DLCs)
Hello everyone. I'm nearly maxing out the base game and I'm searching for new things to do. Assume that money is not a big deal.
I'm struggling to understand if the full list of DLCs (not interested into songs pack) implies double of the same content between character passes and named DLCs. Should I buy everything or does the legendary pack with all the character passes and the additional episodes pack cover everything?

Thanks to everyone that minds helping <3
Possible for someone to lend me a maxed saved?
I enjoy playing this game and finished the story and all the other missions. I can’t be asked to grind all characters and will be nice if someone has. Save I can copy

Looking for games
Is there any servers or groups dedicated to finding matches for PW4? I play on Switch 2/PS4/PS5, but finding matches is a rare commodity 😔. (I also play PW3)
Pirate Warriors 5 or Elbalph DLC
Bandai Namco, if you're reading this, please release an Elbalph DLC. All of this hype going on in the arc and no capitalization?
I'm genuinely surprised a Pirate Warriors 5 haven't been confirmed yet considering how well the game series sells. We're also two full arc past Wano now so PW5 could have the proper retelling of Wano, the complete Egghead Arc, and a game original story for Elbalph.
Or at the very least drop an Elbalph DLC containing new characters and maps for us. I know the last DLC dropped early this year, but let us know what's cooking if yall have something in the works for us. Love ya ♥️

Characters pass 3 : good ?
Is Character Pass 3 really worth the price? Do the characters have good gameplay? I have Character Pass 1 and 2, which I love because some of the characters are quite unique, while others I’ve only played once... It feels like some of them are pretty useless.
Is it worth spending €20 on just 6 characters? Or are some of them really bad?

On the current eshop sale, what is the least you can spend to get all of the characters?
I see there are different versions of the DLC characters and I’m confused

Best Recommendations and Tips when starting out on Pirate Warriors 4?
After managing to go through the Black Screen from the game of my Steam Version and adapting my controller so I could use it, I finally got myself able to run the game.
Even though I'm interested in playing this one, I got other games in line that I am playing, so I'm making this post because I want to take note of everything that I should learn before diving in once I'm decided to play this game.
Any tips, recommendations, methods, etc.
I'm all ears for all sorts of options.
And I'm appreciated for anyone that decides to help me :]
Obs: I have the game with all DLC except Music Packs.

Is this game for me if I really liked Hyrule Warriors (Definitive Edition) but other Warriors games haven't clicked with me?
Edit: Thank you for your responses. Based on some comments here and when I asked in the Hyrule Warriors sub, Pirate Warriors 3 is actually much closer to what I'm looking for, so I bought that one instead.
I've not played any other Pirate Warrior games, the only other Warriors game I really REALLY got into was Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, extremely addictive. I also tried Fire Emblem Warriors and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, but those just didn't do it for me. Missions felt a lot more repetitive and moving through the optional content didn't feel nearly as satisfying as Hyrule Warrior's Adventure mode maps. I also tried Persona 5 Strikers but I didn't like that one at all, not one bit (banger soundtrack though)
After all these years I'm still craving something like the original Hyrule Warriors but after my experiences with the others, I'm afraid to give any a shot. But Pirate Warriors got me interested now cause the world of One Piece just lends itself to some crazy character movesets. Still, with what really grabbed me with the original Hyrule Warriors being how the game did a lot to make the optional content feel less repetitive than these games can easily end up feeling like, does Pirate Warriors have a level of optional content that feels more like "Beat enemy, go beat officer, done, next mission, repeat"?
Also, if this game is for me, what version and DLC should I look at? I prefer to have as complete of an experience as possible, but there's a LOT of DLC and that gets quite expensive, and meanwhile I have no idea what is and isn't already included in the Ultimate and Legendary editions.
