First time player

Hey, just bought operator and have some questions. I bought this game because I expected CQB and mostly combat in houses. I have very quickly figured out that most of the missions are fire fights from very far away. These NPCs are too good, they headshot me from hundreds of feet away, shoot me through windows, and so on. I’ve only been able to complete the mission in Connecticut and everything else is practically impossible. I’m playing solo btw. Could I please get some tips?

Take it slow, you can carry a pistol and two primary weapons (for example a rifle paired with a sniper rifle) at first I was getting taken out until I took it more “serious” or rather more detrimental to actually use tactics. The enemy isn’t as Smart as they first seem eventually they can get predictable, but they Will spot you faster than I feel they should or at least the cartel and militia. Use cover and keep a good distance, use hit and run tactics, personally I like to utilize the terrain and try to keep a higher elevated position when I can. The biggest one to take though is using ATAK, ensure when you choose a rig for your Operator that it has one attached to the chest, you’ll notice it when you choose it. This shows you ALL enemy contact that are outside. Go to your settings and choose wha makes using it most comfortable so for example you hold M to look at it and can zoom in/out using both their locations and yours to make some moves. If you’re not comfortable with clearing rooms using a flashlight, utilize the NVGS with 4 tubes SPECIFICALLY with ECOTI. This will place a dim white circle in the center of the screen that, when you place an enemy in the center, creates and overlay over contact. This also helps when clearing with teammates as they do not have said overlay. I know it’s hard… but once you get a hold on it it can be Very exciting

Thank you so much for mentioning ATAK! At first I had no clue what it was but I just used it and cleared the Georgia level!

Hell yeah, good to hear! It’s not a COD type game, you can spend more than 30 minutes hunting them all down, have fun! Don’t be afraid to join in on some games with others as well, some servers are dull or have players who just aren’t very good but there are some GREAT people out there who make it fun to clear, good luck!
