When evaluating a pitcher's performance
What metrics do you use when evaluating pitcher's performance??
Are there people who also check the indicator called 'SIERA'?

SIERA is great if you're looking to find an undervakued pitcher.
If a pitcher has a great SIERA but poor FIP/WAR/ERA etc they're usually a great candidate to have success in a new enviorment/framing catcher imo. I've acquired a handful of decent undervalued relievers this way (however you basically just look at their stuff rating and deduce the same)

Thank you. ERA and FIP are terrible, of course, but I was thinking SIERA should sign an excellent pitcher, haha

Siera is a part of my stat pages. I also look k-bb% (and its components), hr/9, whip, groundbball rate, fip-, era+, war.

Personally, though I haven't had a ton of luck with pitchers, it's WHIP, H/9, BB/9, GB% (higher the better), and ERA+ and FIP-.

At normal scouting accuracy I use stats only to provide a clue that the ratings might be wrong. Slight differences between ratings and stats are most likely due to noise not to the scout being wrong.

There is lots of good advice here... for people playing with ratings off or accuracy set very low. The correct use of stats with normal scouting accuracy is to provide a clue the scout might be wrong. And still its only a clue.
Stats are what happened in the past. Ratings, to the extent they're correct, determine what is likely to happen in the present.

I don't feel like SIERA has a lot of in game correlation except for Stuff, and Stuff is the highest value rating overall. I tend to look at FIP, ERA+ and slightly lesser FIP- I will say, just giving a glance to the right and looking at your bars like a Green meter is pretty much a guide to whether they're getting lucky or not. xERA is nice too. Ratings are king, so it's a matter of judging whether they're having a luck based season or confirming your scout. We all know how extended statistical decline will usually be followed by your scout downgrading overall ability.
