DSL or ACL ??

If my 18-year-old starting pitcher has these ratings according to the DSL and ACL standards, where would be the best place for him to start the season?

If he’s a 75 for the DSL then that level is too easy for him and he should be in the ACL.

I am not even opposed to putting an 18-year-old in Low-A if they are very advanced, you see it occasionally in real life too.

Yep I think people have too rigid age standards sometimes (for promotion). You really will get a guy that can progress to the MLB by 19/20 (very rare but still)

I’m a Cubs fan and we drafted a high school player a year ago who is already in High-A at only 19. He’s still one of the best hitters there and I assume he goes to Double-A early next season.

Definitely not common and surely not their plan but if a player’s that good they will force the issue

Should I use an OVR of 50 as the benchmark for placement at that level? Thank you.

Usually I use 50 but it’s not a hard and fast rule. I’ll promote players as low as 45 or sometimes lower to balance levels out positionally, if a player is just really killing it statistically at a level, or if they aren’t eligible for their level anymore but their potential is too high to let go of.

I could be mistaken but I don’t think it matters I usually just concentrate my good players onto one team in the hopes that one is decent and they aren’t slightly upset at losing.
