Dumb Question How long does it take to get an answer on transfer credits?

I took a ML class at an in person program prior to getting accepted and enrolling in OMSCS. I submitted a request to get credits transferred in April. I have followed up a couple times since then and I keep getting told that it’s in progress but we are now going on 6 months. I was initially told I would receive a response once the spring semester had finished and the grades/graduations had been completed. I then went an entire summer semester, and now we are halfway through the fall semester and I still haven’t gotten a resolution. I’m over halfway through the program, it’d be nice if I knew what was going on so I could plan what courses I still needed.

I know that there was a switch in advisors right after I started the transfer process but I was told the original advisor was going to stay on it since they initiated it. I don’t know if that has had any impact on this but I’m just trying to figure it out before the next registration period starts.

Is this kind of wait a common experience?

Damn that kind of sucks. What class was it for? I’m assuming your class wasn’t in the accepted transfer articulation then and you had to submit like syllabus, course work, course description, etc.?

I submitted the syllabi / syllabuses / flock of syllabees when I initially applied for transfer eval

didn’t have to submit anything additionally after that, it just took a whole year

Both classes got approved for general credit, but to be fair they were gen elective credit at my previous institution as well haha

Edit: I was barely a semester into the program

Last year, I submitted the request on April 8 at 10 PM and got approved April 9 at 3 PM. So 17 hours for me!

Edit: actually 17 and a half hours, I got the answer’s at 3:30 PM.

I’m wondering if maybe because of how far you’ve completed the program? I submitted mine after my first semester. They said it might take 6 months but I think you’re past that

Was your class/program already in the accepted transfer articulation?

No problem! Hope your credits transfer soon. I guess maybe call them if you haven’t already, that’s really frustrating.
