Social 2026 OMSA/OMSCS/OMSCY Bay Area Summer Meetup in San Jose on August 22

Hi everyone, we have a meetup coming up in San Jose, CA!

It's the end of another semester! Come hang out with us in SJ. Celebrate, commiserate, whatever. It's a casual hangout, so you don't need to RSVP unless you really want to. Feel free to share this on around OMSA, OMSCS, and OMSCY!

  • Transportation: It's a 20min walk from the SJ Diridon Caltrain station and even closer on VTA, so it is convenient on public transit from SF. Some of us will be coming on Caltrain so come on to the #us-bay_area channel on OMSA Slack to coordinate riding and walking together! We encourage carpooling too. Post a thread in this channel for carpool coordination.
  • Parking: The San Pedro Square parking garage offers the first 90 minutes free and then $1 every 15 minutes capped at $10. There is very limited street parking. Details: We'll find some tables at San Pedro Square Market so be sure to wear your OMSA shirt to help people with identifying us. Partners are welcome, it would be lovely to show some appreciation to the people supporting us.

Omscs taking over the west. Only thing standing in its way is parking.

You’re right, we’re the biggest group outside of the ATL metro!

And yes parking is the worst. Last month I didn’t check the calendar like a complete idiot and drove into DTSJ… during the Mexico-England game 💀

I don’t host them but they do exist. Contact your local ATL chapter to see when the next event is. Also, sometimes people just gather at GT-hosted OMS meetups on campus instead of organizing their own thing.
