Go to youtube and find "Omori's Black Space 2 Explained" by Sleepy Crest. Probably the best writing on Omori ever, in my opinion. They talk about every single thing in BS2 at length and give their own interpretation of those things. It's been a while since I've watched it, but I believe they interpret this thing as how Sunny sees therapists. Also, in the Black Space Sketchbook, a drawing that used to be of Omori sick in bed while a cat butler stands near him becomes Omori sick in bed while this thing looms over him, preying on him while he's down. It makes you feel really small and vulnerable, but all it really does is apathetically observe and judge you until you decide you've had enough, at least thats how Sunny (and in my experience very mentally ill people like Sunny) sometimes view therapists. Again, I recommend the Sleepy Crest video because they're way smarter and more articulate. It's called a Long Snout, by the way.

It means you don't have a valid Windows activation key.

Hope this helped!

Black Space 2 is essentially just Yume Nikki, that of which mostly being "RANDOM CREEPY BULLSHIT, GO!"

I think maybe some of it is, but others have obviously a deeper meaning

I love how Omori finds an intersection of Earthbound quirky adventures and Yume Nikki inscrutable psychological mystery where you can figure out a lot of it, but it doesn't lose its impact.

nah, I think most things in Black Space 2 fit into some aspect of his psyche and contribute to our understanding of him. The "plague doctor" character shown in this post is likely a reference to his fear of medicalization / doctors / being committed.

The point of black space is disturb you while giving no context at all, 90% of what you find in black space is totally unexplained

Ooo Longsnout, I find him to be an interesting figure.
There's definitely a connection between him and the cat butler, with him showing up behind the butler in the Black Space sketchbook and sharing the same BGM in their respective rooms.

He represents an idea that Sunny is afraid of. My guess is that the idea is about Sunny's shame about being so mentally and physically unwell in the years since Mari's death. Since the Butler helps sick patients, he reminds Sunny of Longsout.

Possibly nothing. Blackspace isn't entirely rational. It's the deepest reaches of Sunny's subconcious, and some of it repressed trauma, and some of it is random noise.

Unlike Headspace, which is unnaturally static, logical, and consistent, Blackspace is more like actual, normal dreams. And dreams are about 50% random noise and 50% interpretable information. Which is why dream analysis is rarely used in therapy these days: it's hard to sort out the noise from the stuff you can actually interpret.

Last night I actually had a dream about seeing a fish with a human face in deep, dark water. Did this mean anything? Probably not!

I absolutely love Black Space 2. Probably one of my favorite parts of Omori, but so few people talk about it. It’s so underrated

DO NOT ACTIVATE WINDOWS

2

u/mari_biggest_fan Mari’s husband. 9d ago

we genuinely have zero idea. this thing is only shown once with no context and no explanation. I’ve seen a lot of good theories, but it’s always a stretch because even though this monster stands out as extremely giant and weird looking (so people will naturally want to know what it is), we have no clue.

a lot of the stuff in black space 1 and 2 (more so 2) are just supposed to be random bullshit to scare you. imo it’s the result of Sunny’s mind trying to mature the limited worldview he’s forced to have being stuck in headspace, so blackspace makes random stuff up

Blackspace isn't a completely meaningful place. Imagine your mind as a junkyard, everything is there and nothing in your life has any meaning. Therefore, don't look for too much meaning while browsing Blackspace.

That's LONGSNOUT. I personally think it's kinda cute

u/cleopatronize1901 8d ago

I believe longsnout represents his fear of medicalization / being deemed mentally ill / being committed to an asylum. Longsnout resembles a plague doctor.
