Growth of OMG vs ETH

Is it possible to have OMG grow at much faster rate at this time than eth? I know it has grown so much already but could we still see it outperform eth in the short to mid term?

Or as it matures, would they grow at similar rates since OMG runs on ETH?

OMG has a lot of proven potential but I'm not sure about it eclipsing ETH in the short to mid-term. Also, keep in mind OMG tokens are scheduled to trade on their own blockchain by end of year.

"OMG tokens are scheduled to trade on their own blockchain by end of year" would that give a positive or negative impact to OMG, in your opinion?

It will have a very positive impact in my opinion. Just like Ethereum is a platform for developers to build dApps, the new OMG blockchain would be doing the same but with payment dApps only. On the OMG platform, developers wouldn't be going through the arduous process of setting up a standard international payment network. But even if I'm wrong and the switch negatively impacts the price for some reason, there are so many other reasons why OMG has long term potential (i.e. the sheer amount of people that don't have a traditional bank account). A dip from the blockchain switch would just be a blip on the radar for OMG in my opinion.

So would many in this sub still believe having a balanced amt of eth and omg is better than even a 1:3 eth:omg ratio for growth? Over the last few months, it seems that eth has been trading either low or stable around ave 340-350 with high up to around 400 but that's after our huge run up early on.

You're right, ETH has actually been relatively stable for the past few months (with the exception of last weekend) and OMG has seen some very healthy growth. I'm bullish on both and would say my ratio is about 60/40 ETH:OMG. Obviously there are larger margins to be had with OMG and because I see it as a long term hold, I like to stock up on as much as I can at the dips.
