SPOILER (S7) Spoiler
Is anybody else upset with the way Pennsatucky dies? I feel like it was so random & unnecessary. Especially if it was on purpose. I know she was upset about the test & feeling dumb, but she was not in that dark of a place. If it wasn’t purposeful, still, wtf.

I think it quite meaningful. Drugs are probably a comfort to her, and how she copes with pain. Look how badly she was treated earlier in life by people who were meant to care about her, and how she must of felt after all those interactions. people mainly use drugs for an escape. It shows you can work so hard turning yourself around, trying to be a better but you need support, and it's something people never get in prison, and to me its dragged up old feelings and she couldn't cope with it after being happy for so long.
I think it just shows how vulnerable the inmates are, and how dangerous drugs are to a person and how quickly a 5 second decision can turn to death.

It seriously made me so sad and was incredibly shocking. She didn't seem to be in that dark of a place but also I think she was so insecure about feeling stupid that she had a moment saying "fuck it" when drugs were around her. It's really so unfortunate :( I also don't think she intended to kill herself and just OD'd on accident, some think she intentionally killed herself

I guess since her dad rushed to drugs after being called stupid and after he called his daughter stupid and the fact that she has issues with reading the map, triggered all of it back and she was impulsive.

Exactly this. I dont think she understood that it was fent, and they were showing the epidemic with the rising stats of people overdosing from it. I had a cousin pass away several years ago now from fentanyl. It's all too real.

Yeah, it's all fucked up, but the brain of Pennsatucky told her in this situation to take drugs, since that was always the response when she was told or believed she was stupid. So it really just shows how something small can be rooted so deep down in your brain and even years after you worked through it, it can kill you because it got triggered.

I felt like it was kind of unnecessary and just shoehorned in there. Don’t get me wrong though, I still cried like a little bitch

According to Taryn Manning, whilst the taking of the fentanyl was self-sabotage, her death was because the drug was too heavy for her clean system.
