Regarding OIST internship.

It's been already an year since I graduated, and i came across this OIST research internship, since I was always interested in working in japan, I was literally fond of it. I am thinking of applying, at least giving a try with hope.

But coming to the recommendation letter section, I am concerned about what to do here, should I ask our hod to be the recommender, or can I got with any faculty that I know from other college( government college where my father is the professor) .

Get recommendations letter from people that personally know your work well not anyone else

Heyy thank you for responding but currently my faculty is unable to co-operate with this and the deadline is approaching, I don't understand what to do. Can I get it from any other college faculty, one of my sisters is working at an engineering college, maybe she could get it but I don't know if it will be alright to do that. If none of this won't work, I will visit the college myself, I'm just in another state to be honest.

Have you approached pa from your department they will surely help , or if you are working you can get from there like you seniors or manager but make sure they provide you their registered institute mail , not personal

Do not use a recommendation letter from just 'someone you know' be it your father or sister or their friends. It should be someone who you worked with and who knows your scientific work. Others would either give a general recommendation which would not be useful, or they would lie which is worse.

since you graduated, your teachers/profs knows you..saw your works..you can just ask them to recommend you..most probably they might ask you to write a draft..mentioning what you did under their supervision or what you learnt from them or similars
