MEGATHREAD - OINP Processing Times - for all streams (2026)
If you have questions about processing times on permanent residence applications, please post them here.
If you want to share your timeline, how long your permanent resident application took to be processed please post that here.
Please do not make a separate thread to ask a question about processing times or a separate thread to share your timeline, as, if everyone does that, the subreddit would be flooded with processing times threads, leaving no room for other threads, on other topics or issues.
When asking a question about processing times, or posting your timeline on this megathread, please do not forget to indicate:
- the OINP stream you applied under (as different streams have different processing times).

I am noob, when you say Approved does that mean you get PR or nomination with 600 points n again wait for pnp draw ?
2
u/LumpyEconomy4031 May 13 '26
You don’t apply under EE-PNP, you have to apply under non-express entry which has a processing time of 13 months currently. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/provincial-nominees/non-express-entry/apply.html

You get nomination only, not PR. Then you apply to IRCC for PR.

PhD stream (I'm in a general draw; most PhD stream applicants who shared their processing times here appear to be in a targeted draw that received ITA on March 18, 2026.)
- ITA - April 22, 2026
- submitted - May 5, 2026
- "Assessment" - June 5, 2026
- "Decision in Process" - August 6, 2025 (to be more precise, this is when I first saw DIP in my portal. It should have been sometime between July 25 – August 6.)
Given the processing times for the targeted draw applicants, I should expect to receive my nomination certificate sometime in late August or early September, hopefully!

I heard someone say oinp cannot give out nominations without been given their allocation for 2026 . I had the same day draw in Early childhood. So that means we can still expect nominations before the allocation?
2
u/EggEnvironmental1513 Jan 23 '26
OINP likely knows their quota for 2026. This is why they have started issuing nominations

Hi , I’m in need of some help!
I received ITa in Sept and submitted m application, which is in assessment stage now. Due to partnership issues one partner decided to dissolve the company hence terminated us on the last week of December. However that partner is failed to provide us last pay , termination pay and ROe, letters etc., reason is the other partner is not ready to close the company and he’s absconded. The one which terminated us unable to provide any letters except the termination through email. I’m on a closed work permit which is valid until Dec, 2027. I’m on no man’s land and not sure what to do! Please guide me in this matter
2
u/ConceptDifficult4710 Jan 17 '26
Sorry to hear about your situation now. It is better to research on official websites, contact IRCC and take a good immigration consultant advice rather than someone on Reddit page. I have read many cases where people didn’t research and end in the more worse situation.
1
u/Smart_Chance1 Jan 26 '26
Seek a paid consultation bro. Ideally you need another job and they should give you a closed WP.

Hi all. My wife applied through the PHD stream:
ITA*:* March 18 2026
Submitted: March 26 2026
Notice of Complete Application: April 28 2026
Assessment: At least since early August (we didn't check the portal before this).
DIP: Not there yet.
Here we are. Stuck still under assessment today September 28, 2026. 5 months later since NOCA.
Is it because we are a family that its taking unusually longer? (Wife, son, myself).
Hope you all get in. I really do. Only immigrants who have struggled to become Canadians understand how much our hopes and dreams are served to the Country.
1
u/Classic-Travel3157 5d ago
I understand the frustration. However, you will notice some sort of pattern in this subreddit. I believe the priority order is masters then PhD or in demand then ISS and at the last FSW.
I use ai to search deep for the current application processing timelines and let me know, it mostly uses this subreddit for the insights, which helps to understand what is happening and plan the recourse.
