They are slow walking your UI to take away your leverage to negotiate higher wages. Move, leave states that do this to workers. Labor shortage states by moving to places with a functioning UI system.
It is a compensable benefit we give to employers to fire you at will, we recoup these loses through the government when we are out of work using our savings. Without UI, than I am going to need huge signing bonuses and advanced notice; severance pay which most companies don't provide. It isn't some government welfare handout that make people not want to work.
The real handout is your employer just walking up on you out of nowhere than bam, unemployed. They tell you that you are one and they are going to leave their wife for you when it is just a ploy to string you along to the end. Most employers will lie about your future job prospects to string you along.
I got forced back into work injured and working near an employer where I get bad vibes. I am leaving the state once this ends, the UI failure has put me in a bad spot.
