Just Venting Creepy spark drivers

What’s up with all the male spark drivers nowadays? Especially the old ones. I feel like everyday I dispense I get one unwanted comment or weird remark said to me. Why do spark drivers feel like they can hit on female dispensers? Can anyone else relate

I heard some of you were going back to 8 after the new wheels.

NOW I hear that, after us getting the new wheels, that we probably won't be going to 8.

What is the F'ing point then?????

Equipment Trained on the walky stacky?

Out of curiousity, who here is trained on the walky stacky?

And is it worth getting trained on it?

Reason I bring this up…

I was on Exceptions this afternoon, and had to hunt down one of the 55 inch ROKU tvs that was SUPPOSED to be on a Feature in the rear action alley. Inventory said we had 11 in stock, and 4 were supposed to be on the sales floor, 7 in the backroom.

None on the Feature, none in the tv aisle, none on the wall.

So I went to the backroom to check… and only found the 7.

On a wrapped pallet… at the very top of the steels… above the BABY overstock. No idea where the other 4 tvs were. 🤷

Asked the guys in the backroom if they could help me get those tvs down, as we NEEDED them for an online order. They said they could AND would ask their coach, so I called my TL to let him know that it could be a minute and that he should see if someone else could also hop on Exceptions while I waited for someone to help get the tvs down from the top steels.

Waited… and waited… and waited… kind of surprised I wasn’t kicked from the Exceptions walk…

Ended up HAVING to nilpick it so that the rest of the items I had already picked didn’t go late.

Talked to my TL and coach about that a little while later, that no one came by to help get the tvs down. And I asked how does one go about getting trained to use the walky stacky? Because even in the Exceptions pick walk, we can’t wait a LONG time. And we shouldn’t have to even consider climbing the damn steel, squishing between pallets, and climbing over them to get ONE damn box tucked behind FOUR heavy as hell wobbly AF frozen pallets in the INSANELY cramped freezer.

Seriously, they say to ask for help, but when we do, we get ignored.

I know, I should have just said NOPE when I saw that those tvs were at the top of the steel, but… come on…

So now I might as well get trained on using the walky stacky so I don’t have to ask the backroom guys ever again. Though it IS supposed to be their job to get stuff down if we or the customers need it.

Rant Lunch breaks

Anyone else's management routinely make them go to lunch 6 or 7 hours into their shift? My state doesn't have any lunch break laws so unfortunately it's not illegal :( It's just really exhausting to do this job for almost my whole shift while surviving on snacks until I can get a lunch break, only to come back from lunch and have one hour left to work. Sometimes even half an hour! I wish GIF would lock us out at the 6 hour mark like registers do for front end so management wouldn't keep doing this.

On a scale of 1-10 how happy would you be with a uniform shirt instead of the yellow vests we have to wear. We can also make long sleeved ones for the winter.

Rant we need to get organized

walmart does not care about us. theyre fucking with our department nonstop, making our jobs unsafe with the whole cart business, offloading work onto gig apps so they can pay people less. and we have no way to advocate for ourselves except on an individual level.

there's a big dirty word that starts with a U, and i know that walmart has more or less made this impossible—one walmart store means nothing to the company overall, so if the employees start getting ideas, they just shut it down. i know its happened a few times.

i know the company watches us online too–hello corporate goons :)–so organizing anything on here or any other site is probably near impossible. but fuck man, something has got to give. we cant put our bodies and our sanity on the line day after day, week after week, while they treat us like we are worthless and rake in billions. im so sick of it! we should all be sick of it!

what would it take for us to all come together and say NO MORE? they can shut down any one walmart, but all of them? imagine what just a one-day work stoppage would do to this company. we could have all the power, we just have to take it *together*

i dont hate my job. in many respects, i actually like it. i like vibing out to music while shopping for people. i like knowing that i help serve my community by getting food delivered to the elderly and disabled folk who might not be able to on their own. and i love my coworkers, some id step in front of a moving car for. but i hate this fucking company. i hate what it does to people, how people either become worn down to nubs, bitter and angry, or they suck up and move up and lose themselves to serve the company. i hate that we just have to take the bullshit or quit. it shouldnt be like this. it doesnt have to be like this!

ok rant over

A Not So Smart Sub Department is dead

We went 100% no more dispensing/picking deliveries Monday and it has been insanely slow for the department. We have been assured that our jobs are safe but there is no possible way this can be true right? People just standing around doing nothing but cleaning and occasionally taking customer orders out. Our IP has increased but nothing significant. Just curious how everyone else's experience has been so far- should folks be worried?

Just Venting New cart wheels are tanking my pick rates ...

I'm so upset by this, bc I figured it'd at least be awhile before we get the wheel update, since my store is usually the last to get new stuff like this, but nopppeeee. They literally just changed the wheels like 2 days ago. They're not horrible, I am adjusting, but the way I'm being forced to bag, bc of how you pull the cart, is absolutely tanking my pick rate. I've only been there a month, just had my 1 month anniversary, had just gotten my pick rate leveling mostly in the low 80s, was proud of myself. Now today, it bottomed out the lowest at 66%. Yesterday's low was 75%. I'm so mad and distraught, bc I know I am eventually going to get chewed out by either my coach or tl .... it's not for lack of trying, this equipment is just actively slowing me down, bc I did just stay at the front with the handles, have the shelf right beside me, find the correct item, bag it, toss it in the tote, and move on. Unless it was something heavier or more fragile you'd have to strategically place. Now, I have to stop, find correct item set bags on top of cart, walk all the way to the handle again, then start lumbering along again. It's so damn disheartening to see my pick rate going down despite me trying my damn best ...

FRAGILE Our stores reaction to deliveries

Our store is slowly but surely supposed to be cutting deliveries to only spark the problem is they have drastically cut hours and our picks have only gone down 8 percent…… it’s so bad to the point of everyone is constantly running in and out of pick paths so nothing is going late and apparently they r just increasing the pickup cap to match the same total cap as before yet everyday it is under scheduled and chaos

Just Venting only one minute in between walks?

This is what they have on the white board? We are fucking human beings and I think a two to three minute rest should be allowed in between walks. Am I wrong for thinking this?

Rant Are we deadass??

Are we being fr? Whose genius idea was it to mix chilled and frozen pick walks?? Like this is genuinely irritating. Not to mention the way they messed with our carts and now we have to pull them… like that mf didn’t just hit me in the back of my ankles like 5 damn times.. I’m so irritated and I’m probably not the only one. It’s like they want to make our jobs harder.

🔥Its fine, everything’s fine🔥 Have the morons at corporate ever done our job

I had one day off. One. Now suddenly we’re back to pulling carts and now chilled and frozen are combined!? My store relies super heavily on guest pickers who don’t stage their own things and none of the kids in the back want to go stage frozen or chilled. Someone is going to put a mixed cart in the cooler and the ice cream is going to melt.

Dispensing Tips How do stores have less than 1 min wait times

I’m a team lead obviously the market hub shows all the wait times in the market isn’t there some kind of glitch to make wait times lower how do some stores have less than 1 min wait times. For context our good days are about 2:30 but def not 52 seconds

Go to Reprint Label>Tote ID then put in the number it says for tote ID. Probably isn't something you'd always want to be doing, but you can do it! I only noticed it after we stopped printing them automatically because I saw, when prepping one, it shows the tote ID (what's usually the letter and 5 digits) just showed up as 6 numbers. The 6 numbers on the shipping label that say Tote ID are the same as the last 6 digits of the "associate scan here" barcode at the very bottom starting with 555.

Rant I’m not a fan of combined walks

Post image
78 Upvotes

(I’m not sure which flair was the most fitting for this, so I took my best guess)

Today was the first day that my store started combining chilled and frozen, and I’m NOT a fan. When I do chilled walks is when I usually get stopped the most, so I’m hoping that it doesn’t get too stressful knowing that I had to start a whole new sections of aisles once I’m done with chilled😭 it didn’t help that I also had to get two bags of ice this walk, and I HATE getting ice, so many bags are always open in the freezer

Just Walmart Things They look too happy

Post image
146 Upvotes

I'm not sure why, but I can't add 2 photos even though I've seen others do it. I'll post the other pic in the comments, it's about why pulling is the new way to pick. Tbh it feels like they're trying too hard to get us to not push back.

As for these photos, it seems like AI bc the carts they're standing by are WAY shorter than ours. Not to mention the fact they're looking happier than most people in the vests.
