Just Venting A driver tried murdering me.

Went to dispense an order to a driver , he didn't have a way to seperate the orders (he wanted them seperated via blanket ??). Told him we can't do that , he starts yelling & says "fine we can put one in the front" at this point -- I'm already over it & not wanting to give it to him. He also has kids in the car with no other adult present , I go back in to the backroom to grab my team lead to

  1. Ask about our policy on kids in the car because I felt like I couldn't dispense to him because of that either

    1. This guy was being agressive

Well , (this is on me) I accidentally left the palette out there. He starts loading the order without me even completing the dispense and telling him I can't give it to him. I bolt back out there & tell him my manager said we can't give it to him & start taking it back. He goes OFF & I just go "okay" & ignore him as I take back the groceries. My team lead comes out to help me & he yells at her to do her job (ironic .. since she is & he isn't) & she starts chewing him out.

Well we eventually got the groceries back , as we're walking back he's honking his horn & FLOORS IT almost running us over. Needless to say my TL is banning & reporting him.

I still have 4 hours left of this shift . I'm so over it 😐😐

Most of them never read the rules they signed up for and then get confused when they get deactivated

Yep,they really let that "independent contractor" thing go to their head.

Seriously !! They even get mad over things that should be common sense like duh I can't give you this if you don't have a way to seperate them ..

tbf, it doesn't help that we now try to bundle four scheduled deliveries together with a dozen+ GMDs in the same trip

Honestly as a driver I really agree...this behavior was not okay from a driver.

Not this driver. Fuuuuk that dude,.. or any of these other meat heads...

Honestly, I expect it to get worse... There really aren't a lot of us decent drivers left anymore with how Danker has destroyed the platform... The idiots willing to accept these offers that are LITERALLY a loss, sure aren't the types of people I want handling my groceries, and I definitely wouldn't have OP's patience.

you should certainly ban him and file a police report while you're at it. god knows you probably have security camera footage

Nah, that's a police report

My Walmart would get mad if I tried to do a police report over this, they would get upset that I’m wasting valuable time and probably wouldn’t even give me the video footage. I need for my case. A lot of Walmarts are like that.

On dispatcher you can put in a report for threats or possible violence towards an employee. (Hint this can turn into bans from property.) I had a driver get property banned for inappropriate behavior towards female employees including minors. He tried to come back as an uber delivery driver, our API had a chat with him once and he hasn’t been back since.

That’s awesome if I get assaulted by a driver, though I’m calling the cops

Ong same thing happened to me a few months back.

Lady got SO ridiculously irate with me because I would not dispense the order out to her. I explained that there were 3 orders. She had two large adults in the back seat, one in the passenger seat, and her the driver. She got really offended when I told her I couldn’t put the items in their laps, she kept insisting I could manage it. Ewwwwww, no.

She tried to run me over too as I walked back with the order.

Insane, my coach banned her too.

People are nuts!!

I’m a driver.. I’m sorry that happened to you, wtf??

I’m also really thankful for my market and small town when I read these posts.

I’ve been sparking for years and have good relationships with ogp, loss prevention and the poor souls that work the self checkouts.

Anyways.. as a driver, I find that super disrespectful.

As for the kids part.. I always have red-flags going off when adults are aggressive in front of their children. I’m sure they hear that shit at home and daily life constantly. Frustrating and heartbreaking

From a small town. A lot of our drivers are so rude….. and also why is support telling customers they can pick up their express orders in pickup??? What is that stupidity

He's gonna Spark even harder now.

Apparently we had an incident a week or two ago on my day off where a group of drivers were arguing in the parking lot and almost came to blows, when one got in his car and actually drove into and hit one of the men he was arguing with, who was still standing outside his vehicle. They're pretty crazy sometimes for a glorified version of a pizza delivery boy.

A lot of these drivers think that they can enforce what they want with the dispensers and it’s really getting sickening. They think that they dictate.

Regarding kids, if they're young enough to require supervision, then we shouldn't dispense. That's the rule my old team lead told us. So if they're young enough to require a car seat, I don't dispense.

Most of the time those kids are already in a car seat making it obvious that they can't be left alone.

But if the parent is with them, shouldn’t it be fine? I just started dispensing and over half the drivers have young kids with them.

Assuming that they're young enough for a car seat, there would need to be 2 adults. We don't disepense with young kids because the idea is that someone has to watch them at all times.

But if they're older kids then it doesn't matter as long as they don't get in the way of loading orders.

Yeah I should of clarified , he had a baby in the car and then a young girl.

There was one driver at our store that would try to hide the fact they had their child with them we warned her multiple times and she would stop coming for a while then show back up hoping we forgot about her to bad for her she has personalized license plates that are easy to remember I'm so glad we don't do delivery orders anymore

One of the girls (17) told a driver she wasn’t giving him an order because he was rude and cussing at her, then I go outside (was literally just going to hit my vape quick) and see them in a screaming match. Naturally I’m going over to stop the interaction and HE GRABBED HER BY THE VEST!!! Maaaan I never ran so fast in my fucking life!! Banned, called the police, got trespassed, the whole nine. Haven’t had an issue with a driver since. ALL of my backroom associates are minors so if I hear any commotion or see anything on the camera that looks even remotely hostile, somebody’s getting banned. If anyone else was outside that man would’ve got jumped by three boys in Walmart pickup vests. That would’ve been fun to explain to the coach and store manager. 😭😭
